Awfully Chocolate Weekend Brunch Buffet review – Worth the money?

How much chocolate can you down in one seating? Here’s where you can find out.

Awfully Chocolate’s Weekend Brunch Buffet is back with it’s third version, at their flagship outlet at East Coast Road.

Chocolate Raclette Wheel on Crepe

At $38, it comes with a curated brunch plate, unlimited servings of sweet and savoury brunch dishes at the buffet line, as well as unlimited access to their chocolate tap. Their new edition also features a chocolate raclette wheel, which goes on their crepe!

Our honest review of their Weekend Brunch Buffet

Unlimited brunch sounds like a good deal, but is Awfully Chocolate’s Weekend Brunch Buffet v3.0 really worth the money (and the calories, of course)?

Personally, we thought it was a good deal. If you have a decent appetite, you’re likely to be able to make your money’s worth, especially since this is Awfully Chocolate after all. So, all the chocolate used here are of high quality.

I also loved how everything was nice and small, so you get to try everything without being satiate so quickly.

What do we recommend getting?

When it comes to buffet, my personal philosophy is to try a bit of everything, which is what we did.

But, if you’d rather save stomach space for the best dishes there, and you trust our recommendations, here’s what we loved.

Brunch Specials

Every diner is entitled to a Brunch Special — which is a specially curated plated dish — during their buffet.

Their new menu includes the following:

  • Pulled Beef Pita
  • Amatriciana
  • Braised Beef Pie
  • White Clam Vongole
  • Orange & Chicken Caesar Salad
  • Portobello Risotto
  • Crispy Fish and Chips

We ordered the Braised Beef Pita and White Clam Vongole. The pasta could’ve been more incorporated with the sauce, but the taste was fine. Meanwhile, the Pulled Beef Pita was simply divine — so tender, with the fats perfectly rendered out.

I also love how the portion of these were slightly smaller so we had enough stomach space to try their entire buffet spread.

Savoury brunch dishes

For savoury items, you can’t go wrong with Scrambled Eggs and Smoked Chicken Sausage. The eggs were pretty standard, but the sausage was perfect. It was crunchy, smokey, and before you judge me — went super well with the chocolate sauce.

Desserts at Awfully Chocolate’s buffet

Meanwhile, desserts comprise of Lemon Meringue Tarts, Super Stacked Chocolate Cakes, Brownies, and more.

My vote goes to the Lemon Meringue Tart and Mini Apple Pie, which tartness does a great job in cutting all that decadence from the chocolate.

Yogurt Bar with Biscoff yogurt

However, if you feel like you’ve eaten too much chocolates, head down to their DIY Yogurt Bar for a palate cleanse.

You can’t go wrong with their regular Greek Yogurt. But for something new, their Biscoff Greek Yogurt was nicely done. I expected it to be cloying, but it was actually not too sweet, and there was a pleasant cinnamon-y taste to it.

Don’t forget to add their Cacao Granola!

Does it include drinks?

The $38 price for the brunch buffet excludes drinks. However, you can top up an additional $3 for a cup of coffee or tea. But, we recommend their Signature Lemonade. Sour, tangy, and a little funky with the addition of a lightly-pickled cucumber, this was the perfect drink to balance out all the decadence of the meal.

When does the buffet end?

If you’re wondering when Awfully Chocolate’s Weekend Brunch Buffet will end, there’s no word yet. This is their 3.0 version, so let’s hope that rather than discontinuing it, a 4.0 upgrade is on the way.
