Spending an average price of $3 on each piece of macaron may seem like a lavish and impulsive buy. But if you learn about the painstaking process behind these little delicate treats, you may find yourself appreciating macarons at least a little more. The macarons at Bonheur Patisserie has always been on the top of my list!

I remembered walking all the way into Turf City Grandstand from the bus stop just to satisfy my sudden cravings for their macarons. No joke, and it’s a to-and-fro walk of about 20 minutes.

From 14 October onwards, Bonheur Patisserie is no longer operating at Raffles City Shopping Centre and they have shifted their store to Serangoon instead.

Fortunately for me, I managed to grab one of their promo boxes at only $20 on their last day! (U.P $32)

The flavours include Dark Chocolate, Earl Grey Milk Chocolate, Seasalt Gula Melaka, Rose, Pistachio, Cookies & Cream, Nutella, Vanilla, Matcha, Lotus Biscoff. If I could grade, I would surely give a 10/10 as it exceeds all the qualities of a decent macaron. Their absolute must-try is the Earl Grey Milk Chocolate.

It is not easy to master the skill of baking macarons, and Bonheur Patisserie truly nailed it. The decadent Swiss meringue buttercream complemented the chewy texture of the macaron shell. There was a burst of flavours that lingered in my mouth as my teeth sank into the delicate piece. Thankfully, the macarons were not overwhelmingly sweet, and I could just pop 3 pieces at one go.
