Cheese Wonder Singapore: Japan’s Viral Cheesecake Pop-Up Lands at ION Orchard from $35.9

Cheese Wonder Hokkaido cheesecake from Japan's viral pop-up at ION Orchard Singapore

Japan’s most-hyped frozen cheesecake is finally landing in Singapore — and the queues are about to get serious.

Cheese Wonder, the Hokkaido dessert that has drawn three-hour waits and sold-out shelves in minutes back home, opens its first-ever Singapore pop-up at ION Orchard, B4 Indoor Atrium, from 8 May to 30 June 2026.

Look forward to three products on on the shelves from $35.9.

What you can expect at Cheese Wonder’s Singapore pop-up

Three offerings, three different price tiers — here’s exactly what you can pick up at Cheese Wonder’s pop-up at Orchard.

Original Cheese Wonder cross section. Review

Cheese Wonder (the original) — $35.9 for 4pcs / $53.9 for 6pcs.

This is the one that started it all. A two-layer no-bake frozen cheesecake made with Hokkaido pasture-raised milk, cream and butter, plus free-range eggs from Cheese Wonder’s own farm. Inside the crunchy cookie crust is a fresh cheese mousse layered with cheese souffle.

The 4-piece set comes in the brand’s signature thermal bag for $35.9, while the 6-piece gift box is $53.9.

How to eat cheese wonder. Defrosting instructions

There’s a recommended way to eat it — three, actually. Frozen for a firm refreshing bite, lightly softened (10–15 minutes out of the freezer) for the velvety creamy version everyone Instagrams, or fully thawed (about 30 minutes) for the rich, indulgent finish.

Wonder Sand

Wonder Sand — $35.9 for 8pcs.

Launched in Japan in October 2024, Wonder Sand is the cookie sandwich version of the flagship cheesecake — crispy biscuits filled with fresh buttercream and a fresh cheese cream made from two Hokkaido cheeses.

RED Strawberry cross section. Cheese Wonder review

RED Strawberry — $42.9 for 4pcs.

The seasonal limited-edition flavour, and the prettiest of the lot. Inside each one is a whole Japanese strawberry, wrapped in a delicate fresh cheese souffle and surrounded by a strawberry-infused fresh cheese mousse.

The brand recommends eating it half-thawed — the strawberry tastes like a chilled fruit sorbet that slowly softens into a creamy bite.

Why it’s worth queuing for?

Cheese Wonder pop up store at ION Orchard

Operated locally by Caravel Co., it’s the first time the dessert has hit Singapore shelves since Cheese Wonder launched back in 2021.

Furthermore, Cheese Wonder isn’t just hype. Allegedly, it earned the “fantasy dessert” tag in Japan because almost no one can get their hands on one. For nearly four years, the only way to buy it was an online sale at 8pm sharp every Friday and Saturday, with thousands of customers queueing for batches that sold out in minutes.

The first Hong Kong pop-up last year drew the same overwhelming demand. Eight weeks at ION feels like a lot — but go early. Once the word’s out, the queue is the queue.
