Love Hong Kong movies and Jin Yong?
Located at Sha Tin, the Hong Kong Heritage Musuem showcases the iconic works of authors, filmmakers, and actors who have left a lasting impact on the city’s cultural landscape.
What to expect?
The Hong Kong Heritage Musuem has six permanent exhibitions: Hong Kong Pop 60+, Jin Yong Gallery, Children’s Discovery Gallery, Cantonese Opera Heritage Hall, T.T Tsui Gallery of Chinese Art, and Chao Shao-an Gallery.

Our favourite was the Hong Kong Pop 60+ exhibition, which featured all the iconic films and their contributors, including classics like Internal Affair (無間道), Games Gamblers Play (鬼馬雙星), and of course, anything by Wong Kar-wai.
We loved the variety of original prints of the movie posters, as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes footages, where the filmmakers, including the director and the actors, shared about how they felt about the respective films.
Free shows every 30 minutes
For a deeper dive into the respective exhibitions, check out their Screening Room on the second floor, where they would play 30-90 minute clips respective to each exhibition. For instance, the screening for Hong Kong Pop 60+ exhibition, through interviews with influential film makers, artists and actors, offering insights into the city’s cultural evolution.
More niche screenings, such as interviews with Hong Kong pop icon Sam Hui, are also part of the lineup. Check the schedule posted outside the Screening Room for exact screening times.
