Mark your calendars for a cultural extravaganza as the annual Huayi 2024: Chinese Festival of Arts returns to the iconic Esplanade from 16 to 25 February 2024.

Celebrating Chinese arts and culture, this ten-day festival promises a diverse and enriching experience with over 15 captivating performances.

Among the highlights are the dynamic Beats of the Dragon: Festive Drum & Wushu Performance, 13·67 of Zuni Icosahedron from Hong Kong, a heartfelt play Everything For You, and many more. Not to be missed is The Fingers Players’ Transplant, a thought-provoking play by award-winning theatre veteran Oliver Chong, unraveling the complexities of a family manipulated by inner demons.For classic performances, the Chinese Opera and Drama Society will present Peking opera-style productions such as Legend of the White Snake and the classic Kunqu opera, The Peony Pavilion.

The festival also offers hands-on experiences like the Creative Stone Seal Carving Workshop and the unique Microcosm – A sonic tea ceremony. Microcosm invites you into an immersive tea ceremony experience featuring musical improvisation, digital music workstations, acoustic instruments, written text, and vocals. This exploration aims to contemplate how we can harmoniously coexist within ourselves and evolve alongside the dynamic world.

What’s even better is that most of the event are free admission.
