What is “Hypebeast”?

Hypebeast” is a movement based on street fashion that has proven itself to be a strong force in contemporary culture and is often characterized as urban streetwear as well as high priced sneakers. The art pieces inspired by this movement will be displayed in the main dining area and private rooms, being refreshed every time a sale is made. This allows guests to constantly anticipate new limited editions in a series of four shows. The inaugural showcase will also feature an exclusive media-only interaction with Dutch artist Stijn Valentijn via Zoom.

“Hypebeast@Uni will offer diners the chance to experience modern street art first-hand as simpleArte brings an artistic perspective to the movement often characterized by high priced sneakers and urban streetwear.”

Glen Tay, curator at simpleArte

With its specialist take on Japanese cuisine, Uni Gallery was the obvious choice to showcase the fresh and contemporary works by these world-renowned artists. This allows the diners to be able to connect with and better tap into the “hypebeast” movement.

Hypebeast@Uni forms a part of an ongoing series for 2021. The next installment in April will feature art prints by Old Master Q.
