Stands as a revolutionary exhibition, Portals of Longing marking Singapore’s pioneering effort to showcase the unique artistry of refugees, providing a platform for their profound narratives.

Presented by Liberty to Learn Berhad (FUGEE), this exhibition is open to the public and will be on display from 26 February to 3 March 2024 at Wisma Atria Indoor Event Area Level 1.

What is this art exhibition about?

Capturing the vibrant essence of refugee experiences, it showcases artworks that convey a deep sense of yearning for home and acceptance within their newfound communities. FUGEE aims to spread awareness of the refugee crisis in the wake of a global upsurge in forced migration.

The exhibition features over 17 talented artists living in Malaysia, originally coming from diverse backgrounds, including Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Palestine, Syria, and Myanmar, the exhibition aims not only to highlight remarkable art pieces but also to shed light on the inspiring journeys and narratives behind each creation.

This exhibition highlights how hope plays as a pivotal motivation for the refugees, as well as resilience as they deal with the severe obstacles of displacement and the uncertainty of finding a safe haven.
