Proclaiming themselves as the best burger joint in Singapore, this humble restaurant places a lot of emphasis on quality, as reflected by almost all their ingredients which are made from scratch.

Don’t worry, they have more than three buns in their menu.

Da Cheese Master (S$17) from Three Buns adds an interesting twist to the classic cheeseburger. Topped with caramelized onions and a white miso paste, it added a layer of sweetness and pops of salty, umami flavors to the burger.

The only flaw was the huge dollop of ketchup which overpowered the other elements with its tanginess.

We also tried the Bun DMC (S$18). This sweet and spicy concoction is assembled with ketchup, cheese, watermelon relish, bawang goreng (fried onion), onion puree, cucumber and jalapeño pickles.

For our sides, we shared a bowl of Miso Fries (S$9). Loved the asian flair of the dish with the addition of chives and scallions which complemented the miso sauce. Three Buns also added some sliced sausages which I felt was really out of place.

The fries were flattened to look like chips, resulting in an uneven texture. Some bits of it were purely crispy while others were slightly soggy. I would’ve preferred them to be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside but this wasn’t a dealbreaker because it had such an interesting flavor which I personally really liked.
