There’s just something so romantic about stepping into a different world. This Valentine’s Day, spend your date night at this mid-century Japanese Bar — Live Twice.
Each cocktail is expertly crafted, featuring a rich tapestry of layered flavour, and we especially loved their botanical-themed ones, such as their Midori ($28), which features their homemade chartreuse, and the Bamboo ($28).
For bites, you can choose from light bites, platters, and mains.

3. Boaters’ Bar
Dinner at sunset doesn’t get better than this.
Boater’s Bar is offers casual bar fare against the backdrop of an enchanting marina at Sentosa. But what we love most about date night here is the good mix of romance and comfort — good food, good wine, but without all that pretentiousness and stiff etiquette.
If you have to order one dish here, it’ll have to be the Korean-style Wagyu Short Rib ($78.8). It’s an absolute must-try, boasting rich flavours, succulent meat, and delightful tenderness

4. Liora
If you’re after a date night spot that actually backs up its ambience with the food, LIORA is worth putting on the list.
Tucked into Clarke Quay, the new restaurant runs Korean flavours through a modern European kitchen, and almost nothing here comes from a bottle. The sauces and fermentation bases are all made in-house.
If you’re not sure what to order, this is one of those places where most items on the menu were hits. But if we must choose a recommendation, save room for the Tteok, a rice cake topped with charred banana cream and tofu ice cream, to close things out.

5. Kaarla Wood-Fire Grill and Bar
An unobstructed view from the 51st floor, wood-fire open grill, and farm-to-table concept — what’s not to like about this restaurant for date night.
Incidentally, Kaarla also serves the best Australian Wagyu Beef Tartare ($24), garnished with shaved cured egg yolks and a variety of fresh produce for an explosion of flavours.
We also recommend the Parker Brioche ($10), Natural Pork Loin ($36), and Cherry Ripe ($18).

6. Absurdities
Dinner here is as the name suggests — it’s absurd!
But, if your date loves to have fun, they’ll love dining at Absurdities.
Cross through six “multiverses”, each with its own theme, characters and interesting dishes. Not to spoil too much, but you could enter a forbidden forest, a raging sand dune on a different planet, and even back in time.
Even with all the theatrics, every dish prepared was thoughtful and intricate.
Tickets to Absurdities cost $192 per pax for a two hour session. It might be a little pricey, but you won’t be able to find anything like this in Singapore.

7. Tajine
Moroccan food may not fit the conventional notion of romantic cuisine. But, that’s exactly what we love about date night at Tajine.
The decors, a mix of dusty pink and regal gold, are romantic. You’ll feel as though you’re dining in a Moroccan palace, but you can chatter and laugh with no inhibitions.
Furthermore, nothing says romance like sharing food with your partner does. You can share a traditional Tajine, a staple dish, where the meat or fish is slow-cooked in a claypot.
But if you want to try more dishes, we recommend A Bit of Everything ($58). An accurate reflection of its name, this selection comprise of six types of Moroccan salads, such as Zaalouk and Taktouka. The perfect vehicle for them — the Batbout ($8) or Pita ($8), baked fresh in their wood-fire oven.

8. Origin Grill
I know what we said about steak and wine, but here’s a restaurant that does steak night right.
Origin Grill offers full blood wagyu, which is a pure lineage of Japanese wagyu cows, which has a high level of marbling and flavour.
While their steaks were solid — we ordered their chef’s favourite, Stone Axe ($58), you can’t miss out on the starters, which were much more memorable.
We recommend the Wagyu Tartare ($28), Hokkaido Scallop ($34), and Crispy Pork Belly ($28).

9. The Feather Blade
Alternatively, if you’re keen on steak night without breaking the bank, head down to The Feather Blade.
It’s the most value-for-money restaurant in Singapore for a good piece of steak. $25 for a 200g of their Feather Blade Steak. It’s also known as the flat iron, which is a beefy and well-marbled cut without the heavy price tag.
With the dim lights adorning the place, it creates an intimate atmosphere for date night despite the wallet-friendly prices.
For the easties, The Feather Blade has also recently opened a brand new outlet at East Coast, offering an additional seafood menu.

Elegant yet effortlessly relaxed, this spot strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and comfort.
Located at Telok Ayer, Toku Nori offers affordable handrolls from $7.6. But these aren’t just your ordinary handrolls. Each protein is thoughtfully paired with complementary ingredients to showcase its best flavours. For instance, we loved how the sweetness of the fresh scallops are underscored with the spicy, tangy notes from the yuzu kosho and lime zest.
For a no-frills, affordable experience, opt for the Jyosen Set ($38), which includes five handrolls. Otherwise, you can also order each handroll a la carte.

11. Cable Car Sky Dining
Savour a three-course meal in the comfort of a private cable car cabin, surrounded by breathtaking views 100 metres above sea level.
Mount Faber Cable Car has just launched a new menu with Chef Matthew Leong, Executive Chef of three-Michelin-starred Re-Naa, which will be available till May 2026.
The entire experience costs $138 per person.

12. Restaurant Espoir
and the royal colour associated with Malay sultans
Setting the benchmark for the Halal fine-dining scene in Singapore, Restaurant Espoir serves refined Modern European cuisine with traces of local influence.
Here’s what we recommend. For the appetisers, the Gambas Al Ajillo ($22), a traditional Spanish dish, is localised with Szechuan peppercorn and kaffir lime. Meanwhile, the Pan Seared Scallops ($26) was served in a coriander lime emulsion.
Meanwhile, for mains, the Tagliatelle ($30) is spiced up with Sambal while the the Beef Stroganoff ($26) is perfumed with sweet Thai basil.
For the Muslims, they even have 0% cocktails, concocted with Glen Dochus West Coast Blend, a whiskey alternative with hints of fruits and pepper.

13. Tamba
For a new date night experience, head down to “West Africa”.
Tamba is Singapore’s newest African restaurant, designed in warm earthy tones and paired with cultural clay vessels and contemporary art. They spared no details when it came to the decors, but the food was what truly left an impression.
Of course, you have to get the Jollof Rice ($35), a popular rice dish from the region. As simple as it looks, it’s packed with flavours, with a smokey undertone from the pork belly bits. Meanwhile, the Suya (seasonal price) offers you a different way of enjoying steak as the tenderloin is paired with an African salad and peanut snacks.

14. Haus
If going to a bar is too basic for a memorable first date, consider a wine and cheesecake shop instead.
Located at KADA, Haus is the first, and possibly only, cheesecake-and-wine speciality shop. Their Haus Cheesecake ($12)? Extraordinary. It’s a blend of basque burnt cheesecake with a delightful biscuit base, quintessential of a classic New York Cheesecake.
Pair it with two specially curated wines, priced at $15 per glass with the cheesecake, and $18 a la carte.

15. French Fold
For authentic crepes and galettes, there is only one place to go — French Fold.
Its French cafe setting offers a casual and cosy setting, where you can indulge in no-frills French fare. Their assortment of crepes and galettes start from $9, with other options such as burgers, salads, and cheese platters.
Do take note of your visiting time as the cafe provides five different menus for various times.

16. Open Farm Community
Get a palate cleanse at Singapore’s pioneering urban farm and restaurant. Open Farm Community’s has just launched their brand new menu, focusing on Modern European cuisine infused with delightful Asian accents.
One of the highlights of this new menu is the use of locally sourced ingredients from around the region. However, what truly sets Open Farm Community apart is their commitment to cultivating their own herbs and flowers right on the premises. It’s a farm-to-table concept at its finest, allowing diners to indulge in dishes where some of the ingredients are just a short walk away from the very tables they sit at.

17. Allora Ristorante & Bar
Impress your date with a table-side tiramisu at Allora Ristorante & Bar, a brand new Italian restaurant at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.

There’s nothing better than a good steak and a fun, casual atmosphere for a date.
Fat Belly Steakhouse claims to be the best casual steakhouse in Bukit Timah, and you know what, they might be right. Their steaks are so good that you don’t have to pair it with any sauces — not even that additional sprinkle of sea salt.
While their steaks are an obvious must get, you can’t say you’ve had date night at Fat Belly without trying their crowd favourite — Fried Brussels Sprouts ($14).

Dining in the dark might sound like one of those gimmicky concepts, but trust us when we say that NOX executes it perfectly — and the food was truly amazing too.
As a date idea, you get an opportunity to connect on a deeper level, since literally all you can do is talk to each other.
Meanwhile, food wise, you get four appetisers, four mains, and four desserts. At the end of your meal, you’ll even get to guess what was served, before the staff reveals the answer, adding a fun element into your date night.
