Swings! The thing that comes to mind when we hear this word is regular park swings. While those are enough to fill our hearts with joy, imagine a swing with a marvellous scenic beauty. Excitement churning up in the stomach?

Let’s swing through the places that allow us to do so.

Bali, Indonesia, is a place of greenery and breathtaking beauty. We’d think of spas, island hopping and chasing waterfalls. If you take the phrase “fly high” too seriously, you have to add Bali swings in your travel itinerary. The thought of swinging high over the vast spread of enigmatic greenery, long stretched rivers, rice fields, high cliffs, and many more is an adrenaline booster.

1. Bali Swing

Amongst all, the Bali Swing is the most popular, ranging from 10m, 15m, 20m and 78m from the ground.

It is a 20 minutes drive from Ubud Centre, a cultural attraction, and 1.5 hour from Kuta, a beach resort.

2. Wanagiri Hidden Hills Swing

There are many swings in Wanagiri; each different view to offer.

One that has gained traction on the internet recently is the Wanagiri Hidden Hills Swing, surrounded by grandiose hills and lakes.

It is not listed on major travel agencies currently but thankfully, British travel writer Charlie Pauly has published an extensive guide on how to get to the obscure location.

Other Instagram-worthy spots include a big wooden teacup, a human-sized nest, an Indonesian interpretation of the Eiffel Tower, tree houses and swings overlooking Lake Buyan and Lake Tambligan.

It is a two-hour drive from Kuta or Bali airport. and entry fees start from roughly $8 per person.

3. Ubud Swing at Zen Hideaway

As the name suggests, the swing is located in a place of serenity, with scenic views of the river, rice fields and Mount Agung, an active volcano.

Located in the outskirts of Ubud, a 30 minutes drive from Ubud Center, it is the perfect place for visitors who wish to escape the bustles of the city.

The swing costs $25 per person as it includes the entry fee to Zen Hideaway, which is an attraction itself.

You can also stay the night in their huts.

4. Aloha Ubud Swing

Self-touted as the best swing in the area, Aloha Ubud Swing provides a spectacular view of rice paddies and Coffee Luwak plantation.

A package, which includes five swings running from 10m to 60m heights, a sight of two types of nests entrance to the butterfly park and rice paddy, cost roughly $20.

What sets the Aloha Ubud Swing from others is that it’s not just an adrenaline-pumping attraction. Its museum showcases the development of agriculture in Bali. Furthermore, it’s in a prime location, surrounded by other famous tourist attractions.

They also offer complimentary coffee from their own plantation or a cup of tea.

5. Alas Harum Swing

The Alas Harum Swing is found in the village of Alas Harum, a 20 minutes drive from Central Ubud.

Its swings ranges from 15m- 25m from the ground, at a price of $15 to $40. Couple swings are also available.

Additionally, the village offers Luwak Coffee-brewing workshop, a zip-line and Instagrammable spots such as a see-through glass terrace, bird’s nest and a dancing bridge.

6. Terrace River Pool Swing

Located in the north of Ubud, the Terrace River Pool Swing offers 15 different kinds of swings of different heights.

The extreme swing and super extreme swing starts from 45m and 60m from the ground respectively. The attraction also offers a couple swing, which is 45m above ground level.

Swings start from roughly $15.

Coffee and tea tasting, and entrance to six different bird’s nest is included in packages.
