The Story of Studio Ghibli is coming to Singapore, and this exhibition is not a rerun of what you’ve seen elsewhere.
This is the exhibition’s world premiere — the largest version of the show ever staged, spread across nearly 3,500 square metres at Gardens by the Bay’s West Lawn. Tickets are available on Klook from $39.
Produced by TSUKURU, INC. and M Experience, with support from the Singapore Tourism Board, the exhibition recreates 12 life-sized worlds pulled from Studio Ghibli’s 40-year catalogue — Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, The Boy and the Heron, and more.
What you can expect at The Story of Studio Ghibli?
The headline installation is a world-first: an eight-metre-tall, three-dimensional recreation of the bathhouse from Spirited Away, built to scale rather for the perfect photo.

Walk further in and you’ll come face to face with the Ohmu from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. You can also stand beside a life-sized Totoro while you wait for the Catbus, and step through Princess Mononoke’s forest, where large-scale set pieces are layered with atmospheric projections and immersive multimedia rather than static props.

Expect the same treatment for Kiki’s Delivery Service and Howl’s Moving Castle, with sets built to encourage lingering rather than a quick walk-through for a photo.
What sets this apart from a straightforward walk-through is the interactivity. Multimedia installations are built into each set, so instead of just viewing the scenes from the films, you’re placed inside them
That’s also the point of the ticket structure. Every adult who books during the early bird window — 12 September to 17 December 2026 — walks away with an exclusive limited-edition gift on top of entry, while stocks last.

Educational content around creativity, resilience, and environmental stewardship is also being developed for the exhibition, with more details expected closer to opening, aimed at giving school groups and families a reason to come back beyond the photo ops.
Why it’s worth going?
Singapore isn’t just getting a stop on this exhibition’s tour — it’s getting the debut, which means the biggest build and a handful of experiences that haven’t existed anywhere else yet, including that eight-metre bathhouse. If you grew up on these films, or you’re introducing them to a kid who’s never seen a Catbus in real life, this is the version worth booking early for. And the early bird window is short: tickets bought between 12 September and 17 December 2026 come with an exclusive limited-edition gift, while stocks last.
