Danang, Vietnam is a city filled with hidden gems and unique experiences waiting to be discovered. Sounds cliche, but wait till you hear about our latest discovery…

When you think of Danang, you would think about their iconic Golden Bridge, or the anachronistic My Son Sanctuary. Or perhaps, a chill walk along Han River, or a day-trip to Hoi An Ancient Town. But, after exploring this coastal city, we realised how underrated it’s thrift store scene is! Okay, I’ll be honest… It’s not that thriving; it’s really just these five thrift stores on the list. But it’s more than enough for a huge thrift haul.

Whether you’re a vintage aficionado or just looking for something different to add to your wardrobe, you have to check out these thrift stores in Danang, each with its own distinct offerings.

1. Bo Vintage

Bo Vintage is your all-in-one thrift store in Danang.

They have everything, from denim jackets and bomber jackets at the entrance, authentic sports windbreakers, old money shirts, and even a whole section for winter wear on the second floor. The apparels on shelves include renown brands such as Ralph Lauren, Ellesse and Levi’s, and vintage out-of-manufacturing university jerseys from the 90s.

The price point was insane too. For its variety and quality — most of them looked brand new, and those that were a little yellowish were easily fixed with a bit of bleach — you can get items for as low as $2, and most of them are between $5-10. For reference, I snagged an authentic Yomiuri Giants windbreaker for $5, an Ellesse windbreaker for $5, and a Ralph Lauren shirt for $2.

2. Nhim Retro

One thing the almighty Bo Vintage doesn’t have is accessories. But fret not, you can continue your shopping at Nhim Retro, located near My Khe Beach, and Le Quang Dao street, also regarded as a vibrant cafe street by the locals.

Nhim Retro is tucked within the housing estates so it might be a little hard to find. But the journey is worth it, once you see their wide collection of accessories, ranging from silver and gold rings, bracelets, vintage pins, pearl necklaces, beaded necklaces, and more. If you are into vintage gemstone rings, there are many available at $10-20. Meanwhile, I managed to snag a Military 507 Unit signet ring for $5.

The store claims to be open 24 hours on Google, but I think it’ll be good to give the owner a call before heading there. The owner is a very nice lady who gave me her shopping advice and opinions while I was torn between all the choices.

3. MOMONO Vintage Shop

MOMONO Vintage Shop is perfect if you’re running on a tight schedule, though I highly doubt anyone’s Danang itinerary is that packed, because it’s located within walking distance of some of the most popular tourist attractions in Danang. It’s situated between Da Nang Museum, and Han Market, and Cong Ca Phe.

Situated deep within a housing estate cluster, MOMONO Vintage Shop owns a mix of curated and non-curated pre-loved apparels. You shouldn’t expect anything too vintage though. The clothes here are pretty standard thrift store items like Ralph Lauren shirts and Levi’s jeans. The only rack that caught my eye, and is exclusive to MOMONO Vintage Shop, is their Japanese suits. All of them are still in tip-top condition, and they are the perfect suit if you are looking for something with a little flair, as a Japanese name is embroidered on the inside.

4. Taim Lup Vintage Clothing Shop

Here are when things get slightly more pricey.

Taim Lup Vintage Clothing Shop sells slightly more curated vintage apparels and their prices averages at $15 per piece. It is located slightly away from the city centre though. So unless you’re really keen on copping some authentic vintage apparels, I would recommend sticking to Bo Vintage, 2Hand, and MOMONO Vintage Shop where there are other attractions within walking distance.

That being said, one of my favourite buys from Da Nang was a Crocodile grey cardigan from this shop.

5. CCG Clothing Danang

Out of the five thrift stores feature on this list, CCG Clothing Danang owns the most “vintage-y” and unique items. But of course, that comes with a hefty price tag. There isn’t a lot of options to choose from either, and it’s quite a distance away from the city centre, so I wouldn’t recommend this unless you have a lot of spare time during your trip.

This is not indicated on Google, but they are located on the third floor of the given address, so just keep an eye out for their sign at the entrance of the building.
