Here’s an additional excuse for you to travel to JB this weekend!

Located 20 minutes away from JB checkpoint, Chow Q Cafe is a dog petting cafe which houses adorable and fluffy pups mainly consisting of Chow Chow, Shiba Inu and Giant Poodles.

In case you don’t realise it, Chow Q sounds like “超 cute”, which translates to super cute in Chinese.

There is also no entrance fee to this dog petting cafe, and you can stay as long as you wish. However, you are required to order a minimum of one drink per person.

The cafe serves mainly bubble tea drinks starting from RM9.9, as well as finger food like fries and chicken. We ordered the Signature Chow Q Bubble Tea and Sour Plum.

The milk tea was decent but the pearls were a tad bit undercooked, which was an ick for me. But the main stars were the adorable pups so it didn’t really matter. Meanwhile, the Sour Plum had an intense flavour and tasted like actual sour plums, instead of artificial flavouring.

The cafe was pretty spacious for the doggos to walk around, but most of the chow chows were just lazing on the ground. They were super cuddly and not skittish at all.

One of the giant poodles even jumped onto the sofa to sit beside me, how lovely.

Chow Q Cafe also has a pet store next door selling puppies and kittens. Can you guess the breed of these adorable pups?

It’s a Chow Doodle, which is a mixed breed of Chow Chow and Poodle.

Chow Q Cafe is a very nice place to hang around for dog lovers, especially since they do not have a time limit. The staff were also very helpful in assisting us with photo-taking or getting the dogs to sit obediently for a better shot. In the end, we stayed for a few hours just chilling and cuddling with the dogs.
