[REVIEW] Clap Cafe – Pecan Tart & Pumpkin Latte

Iced Latte at Clap Cafe, in front of their coffee menu and cat decor

Clap Cafe rose to fame last autumn with its signature Pumpkin Spice Latte and Maple Pecan Tart.

Located along Waterloo Street– beside Kurasu- Clap Cafe is a spacious cafe designed for group gatherings or a productive working space.

The interior bears a mix of minimalism and industrialism, with its cloudy grey walls and cement flooring, trinkets on the shelves and a large floral arrangement at the corner. Not forgetting their logo, which features two cat paws holding a cup of coffee, with ‘CLAP’ hovering above.

Their house blend is nutty and smooth and is served in the following prices: Black ($5), White ($6), Affogato ($8).

Meanwhile, their signature Spiced Pumpkin Latte and Dirty Chocolate cost $8.

The Maple Pecan Tart is fragrant and nutty, with traces of caramel. Its best part has to be its flaky pie crust though, with just a touch of butter without being too decadent.

This autumn-inspired dessert is just one of Clap Cafe’s cake menu, which includes Basque Burnt Cheesecake ($9), Red Velvet ($8), Molten Chocolate ($12) and Sticky Date Cake ($12).
