Hinomi H2 Pro Office Chair Review – is it worth buying?

Ever noticed an unexplained soreness in your back, even when you haven’t done anything physically demanding? In many cases, it comes down to what you’re sitting on for hours each day. A properly designed work chair can play a bigger role than we realise in day-to-day comfort.

Even before getting into the functionality, the design already caught my attention. The Hinomi H2 Pro comes in five colour options — Moon Grey, Coal Black, Cream White, Mint Green and Mist Pink. Since my room is already decked in soft pink tones, the Mist Pink felt like the most natural fit for my home setup.

And here are 5 things I didn’t think before buying a work chair, but now I do.

1. Lumbar support that adjusts as you move

One thing I noticed quickly was how often my posture changes throughout the day. I sit upright when I’m working intensely on my keyboard, lean back during calls and shift around more than I realised. The chair comes with a UniAdapt™ lumbar support two-part system that adjusts with those movements instead of staying fixed in one position.
Because of that, my lower back feels supported without me having to constantly sit a certain way. It’s subtle, but over long hours at my home desk, it makes a noticeable difference.

2. Adjustable armrests

I honestly didn’t think adjustable armrests make any difference. The Bi-Pivot 5D armrests move in five different directions, which sounds a little excessive until you actually use them.

When I’m typing, they sit close and supportive. But when I’m scrolling on my phone or watching something, I’ll adjust them to a more relaxed position. There’s also an option to flip them up completely with their 95-degree flip-up feature, which is useful when I want more space or need my arms unrestricted.

3. Foldable yet stable chair

When I heard this chair could fold, I expected some compromise in stability, but that wasn’t the case. The FlashFold™ frame is built on a reinforced aluminium alloy base and it feels solid the moment you sit down.

The ability to fold it away is useful in a home workspace, especially when space is limited is really useful. This function is however, not really applicable for my usage since there are cabinets under my table. If you’re using standing desks, this feature would be perfect.

4. Integrated legrest

I didn’t expect to use the legrest much, but it has become part of my routine during breaks (and when I am watching shows on my laptop). When fully reclined to its full 143°, the chair supports the body evenly and feels secure due to the strong aluminium base.
It’s not something I use all the time, but having the option to lean back and properly rest during the day helps break up long periods of sitting. And perfect for naps too!

5. Breathable Mesh

The chenille flocked mesh feels soft and comfortable on the skin and doesn’t have that scratchy or abrasive feel that some mesh chairs do.

In a warm home environment (especially in Singapore’s humid weather), I would highly recommend getting a chair with mesh material to keep yourself cool during longer working hours.

Ultimately, compared to the potential long-term costs of managing back pain, a $629 office chair is probably more justified.
