Award-winning & Juliet musical comes to Singapore for its only Asian stop from 21 September to 8 October, at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands.

The show, which has taken over Broadway, has a book written by Emmy® Award-winning Schitt’s Creek writer David West Read and music from legendary five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter/producer Max Martin.

& Juliet takes the story of Shakespeare’s most famous love story and remakes it with some of the most iconic pop songs of the last three decades in an uplifting story of self-discovery, empowerment, and love. In this production, the story of Romeo and Juliet is flipped on its head, imagining what would happen if Juliet had not ended her life for Romeo and had a second chance at life and love, on her terms.

The show bursts to life through an addictive playlist of pop anthems by legendary songwriter Max Martin and friends. The playlist includes popular hits like Since U Been Gone, Roar, Baby One More Time, Larger Than Life, That’s The Way It Is, Can’t Stop the Feeling, plus a brand new song written especially for the show by Martin.

The musical has received rave reviews and was described by Entertainment Weekly as “exuberant, joyful & ingenious.” New York Magazine also says, “makes you levitate out of your seat. It’s impossible not to feel intoxicated.”

The show is produced by Michael Cassel Group in association with MTM/Leyline and is presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia under the direction of Chantal Prudhomme.

& Juliet had its World Premiere in September 2019 at the Manchester Opera House in England, before moving to London’s West End, where it began performances in November 2019 at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London and went on to win three Olivier Awards. The show had its North American premiere in July 2022 in Toronto, where it broke box office records and played to standing-room-only audiences before heading to Broadway, where it has again been a hit.

Winning three Olivier Awards after its World Premiere in September 2019, and breaking box office records in Toronto in 2022, Prudhomme encourages Singaporeans to catch the show while they can.

Tickets start from $68, and is available on Marina Bay Sands, Sistic, and Trip.com
