Maramalde Pantry Pancakes

For starters, Marmalade Pantry is so much more than its dainty exterior and desserts. Aside from its ambiance and exquisite desserts on their high-tea menu, they have a rather extensive menus covering salads, sandwiches and burgers, pastas and protein.

A sinful option, the Spicy Sriracha Chicken Burger (S$24) leaves an impression in terms of taste and texture. A good crunch on the first bite, followed by the oozing of the spice-infused oil and the fiery sriracha mayo and ending off with a creamy and tart blue cheese dressing which balances out the heat.

The Japanese Lobster Benedict (S$32) at Marmalade Pantry is probably the most expensive egg benedict I have ever eaten but there is a fairly good amount of lobster chunks.

The English muffins were crispier and more buttery than usual; together with the miso dressing and tobiko (flying fish roe), this dish tastes like what I’d expect a Japanese-styled lobster roll would taste like.

While it doesn’t look as glammed up as other pancakes out there, The Marmalade Pancakes (S$20) is one of the best I’ve eaten. It actually is just your classic pancake with fruit toppings and whip cream (a little fluffier probably from the additional whisking of egg whites) but there’s just something about the batter that makes it taste so much better.

Their house-made salted caramel sauce is even more impressive- creamy, thick, with a good balance of sweet and savory.

The Truffled Field Mushroom Risotto (S$25) was cooked perfectly. It was fluffy and light. The flavor of the mushrooms and rice was deep and overall the dish was just really aromatic.

The branches at Downtown and Novena also has an additional ‘Asian Corner’. Indulge in local flavors such as the of Hainanese Chicken Rice ($22), Hokkien Noodle ($22), Kimchi Fried Rice ($26), Singapore Laksa ($29) and Curry Barramundi ($28).
