[REVIEW] PARKROYAL Saigon – The best hotel for a stopover

Nestled just a 5-minute drive from the bustling Tan Son Nhat International Airport, PARKROYAL Saigon emerges as the ideal sanctuary for those looking to make the most of a short stopover in Ho Chi Minh City.

Offering convenience and comfort in equal measure, this hotel serves as the perfect launchpad for a day of exploration in this vibrant city.

A day in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City

When time is of the essence, and you have just a day to explore Ho Chi Minh City, the PARKROYAL Saigon’s strategic location becomes a game-changer. It’s located right beside the airport, so you can easily check in to wash up and stow your luggage.

Forego the more time-consuming attractions like Mekong Delta and Cu Chi Tunnels, and visit these iconic landmarks that encapsulate the city’s essence.

Begin your journey at the War Remnants Museum, a poignant three-story institution providing a nuanced perspective on the Vietnam War. With artifacts, graphic photographs, and decommissioned military equipment scattered across the courtyard, the museum offers a solemn yet impactful experience.

Adjacent to this historical enclave lies the renowned Ben Thanh Market. This bustling marketplace, situated atop reclaimed land, invites you into a sensory haven. From fresh produce to conical hats, weasel coffee to lacquerware, the market’s maze-like aisles showcase the diverse offerings of Vietnamese culture.

A luxurious haven at PARKROYAL Saigon

We paid just a little more for the Orchard Club Deluxe Room for a luxurious stay. The spacious room, adorned with warm tones of red and yellow, featured a delightful blend of cosiness and sophistication. Meanwhile, the bathroom, complete with a bathtub separated by a stylish glass partition, offered both convenience and a touch of privacy.

A substantial table and ergonomic chair provided a functional workspace for those in need, complemented by the added perk of free evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at The Lobby Lounge — a thoughtful touch that enhanced our overall experience.

The buffet breakfast at the hotel showcased a delightful array of traditional Vietnamese and Western dishes. Noteworthy was the solid rendition of pho and the option to craft a DIY banh mi, complete with toast, pate, and cold cuts. For coffee enthusiasts, a bold cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee was a must-try.

Complementing the indulgent stay, PARKROYAL Saigon boasts St. Gregory Spa, offering rejuvenating treatments, and a centrally located pool, inviting guests to unwind in a tranquil oasis within the heart of the hotel.

This harmonious blend of luxury, convenience, and cultural proximity made our stay at PARKROYAL Saigon truly exceptional.
