Local distributor Foodieland is known for importing biscuits and crackers from renowned Hong Kong bakery, Garden. Recently, they’ve decided to bring in premium Japanese drinks from Japan as well, namely: 100% Pure Apple Juice by JA Aoren and Soda Ciders by Kimura.

100% Pure Apple Juice

Your minds will be absolutely blown by the apple juices by JA Aoren.

They come in two variations. Made from 100% pure apple juice from Aomori Japan, the Red Apple Juice uses 3 types of apples- Fuji, Orin and Jon Gold. Meanwhile, the Yellow Apple Juice uses Orin, Toki and Kio.

No additive sugar or ingredients to enhance the taste, the apple juices by JA Aoren are purely liquified apples. It’s a lot more flavorful than the average storebought ones, probably due to the presence of three different types of apples.

The only difference between the two drinks is that the Red Apple juice is slightly sweeter while the Yellow Apple Juice has a slight tang to it.

A 280ml bottle costs S$3.2 and a 1L bottle costs S$11.

Kimura Soda Cider

This set of drinks caught my eyes instantly. The glass bottles and the package design, not to mention the word ‘cider’ in its name got me thinking that these were actually cider. But just to clarify, all of Kimura Soda Ciders are non-alcoholic.

The soda ciders come in 5 different flavors (S$5.5 each): Yamanashi Red Grape, Shinshu White Grape, Shinshu Apple, Peach and Mount Fuji Yuzu, which I was most looking forward to drinking.

Fizzy and refreshing, it doesn’t taste overly saturated with sugar compared to close substitutes like Fuji Apple or Fanta Grape. Rather, they have a more natural fruity flavor. It’s also slightly fizzier, which makes it great as a refreshing drink after a long day of work especially on a hot day.

While all five flavors are better than your average sodas, my favorites were the Peach and Yuzu. I think that the Peach tasted the closest to an actual peach and I would’ve liked it even more if it wasn’t carbonated, actually.

On the other hand, the Yuzu is tangy and very refreshing to drink.

You can purchase all 5 flavors for S$24.

Convenient Can Soups

Pokka Sapporo Can Soups come in 4 different flavors: Corn Potage, Pumpkin Potage, Tomato, and Potato and Leek.

What makes them so special is the fact that it’s extremely convenient. There’s no need for a can opener as you can just twist the lid off like a bottle. You don’t have to cook it on a stove top; you don’t even have to pop it in the microwave. You can just drink it as it is. But, it does taste better if you put in a little more effort to heat it up.

You can purchase these can soups for S$4 each or S$14 for a set of 4.
