Apartment Coffee is unlike any coffee houses we’ve been to. It isn’t its great coffee or minimalistic interior design that sets it apart. Instead, it’s the concept behind this little cafe — or rather, home — for coffee lovers to gather.

“Every coffee tells a story”

The first thing I noticed was the huge bar counter with the friendliest baristas on one side and the customers on the other. In alignment with their philosophy that ‘every coffee tells a story’, this allowed the baristas to infuse a personal touch in their masterpiece as they get to know their guest in their quaint little apartment.

Meanwhile, there is a handful of separate tables for those who are planning to seek sanctuary or are visiting in a group.

Usually, I would’ve preferred snuggling against a corner at a small table (for a little more privacy to focus on my work). But, I have to admit it was a good change of pace.

The immaculate minimalistic furniture, the friendly small talk, the clear view of the baristas executing their craft masterfully. Before I even had a taste of their artisan/specialty coffee, I was already enchanted by the ambiance.

Review

Apartment offered three types of roasts, each with their distinctive personalities. I got the Ethiopia ($8) which promises passion fruit, stewed peach and mango sensory notes.

It was a little acidic but packed with fruitiness. Not gonna lie, if I hadn’t read the menu beforehand, I wouldn’t be able to distinctly point out all of the specific tasting notes. But, it certainly transcended your average cup of coffee.

Verdict

It was almost full when I arrived at 2pm on a weekday. This would’ve been a really good place to chill and enjoy a cup of joe if not for the bad acoustics (although it is understandable since it was quite a small cafe). Perhaps, I should come back in the morning when there are fewer people.
