Founded by Les Amis pastry chef Cheryl Koh, Tarte by Cheryl Koh houses an array of artisanal tarts, inspired by seasonal ingredients. Indubitably, the tarts are blessed with good looks and interesting flavors. However, going at a starting price of S$8 per tart *gasp*, the real question lies in whether they’re worth the money.

Their Pandan and Coconut had a light sweetness and a good balance of flavors. Paired with a thin and airy crust, this made for the perfect dessert after a heavy meal.

In comparison, their Baked Cheese Tart was quite a letdown. For starters, the tart was soggy, probably due to the cheese filling. And although it had a rich flavor, it was too sweet for my liking.

It’s hard to give a proper verdict given that I only tried two flavors. Regardless, I find that S$8 for a tart is extremely pricey and it’s not something that I would pay for unless it’s for certain exclusive flavors.
