Recognising this growing appreciation, the highly anticipated inaugural edition of Sake Meguri 2023 will grace Singapore’s culinary scene on 22 July.

Sake, a revered traditional Japanese beverage with a history spanning centuries, undergoes an intricate brewing process that showcases the artistry of sake craftsmanship.

At the heart of Sake Meguri 2023 beats a profound reverence for the cultural heritage embodied by sake breweries in Japan. Through the participation of 18 esteemed sake breweries, representatives will generously share their stories, culture, and rich history, offering visitors an invaluable opportunity to deepen their understanding and appreciation of this beloved beverage.

From beloved and widely recognised favourites to the allure of rare and exclusive sakes, this event is a gateway to uncovering the nuanced intricacies of Japan’s finest brews such as Born Chogin, TANAKA1789xCHARTIER Blend 001, Masumi Junmai Daiginjo Nakadori Nanago, Nanbubijin All Koji, Hakkaisan Junmai Daiginjo 8 years Snow Aged, and many more; all available for tastings.

Beyond tastings, sake enthusiasts are invited to immerse themselves in a series of captivating masterclasses conducted by esteemed Sake sommeliers, including Joshua Kalinan, Master Sake Sommelier and Sake Sommelier of the Year 2018. These exclusive sessions offer a priceless opportunity to delve into the intricate world of sake with a focus on tasting sessions and engaging discussions. Participants will gain invaluable insights into tasting notes, flavour profiles, and the distinct brewing techniques that give each sake its character and allure.

At $60 per ticket, the masterclasses delve into a variety of captivating topics. “Is Sake Ideal To Pair With Our Local Hawker Fare?” provides guidance on finding the delicate balance between sake and local dishes. Meanwhile, “Does Terroir Exist in Our Sake”, participants can delve into the concept of terroir and its influence on sake production by uncovering the rich tapestry of flavours influenced by the land and environment where it is crafted.
