What’s SNOWSAND?

Haven’t heard of SNOWSAND before? If you’re wondering what’s the hype about, SNOWSAND was created by Mr. Shintaro Naganuma, former founder and CEO of BAKE Inc., the company behind the iconic “BAKE CHEESE TART”.

After leaving BAKE Inc. in 2017, Mr. Naganuma spent time in the States to deepen his expertise in advanced dairy farming. He returned to Japan in 2019, taking on the role of CEO at Hokkaido Confect Group, which oversees six confectionery brands, including the well-known Kinotoya in Sapporo. During this period, he also launched SNOWS, a winter-exclusive confectionery brand that has gained widespread popularity in Japan.

A key reason to its success is its premium milk sourced from their own free-range farm in Hidaka, Hokkaido. With mild winters and minimal snowfall, Hidaka provides a perfect setting for pasture-based farming. It is a rare practice among Japanese dairy farms, with only 1% following this method. The farm’s 80 cows are able to graze freely on fresh grass in this favourable climate. This contributes to a low-stress environment that produces rich, creamy milk.
