Fantastic food, perfect drinks, and amazing service — this office-themed cocktail bar has been gaining recognition in the north, and here’s why. If there’s one cocktail bar I will pledge my loyalty to, it’s O/T Bar.

Office-themed cocktails

You can tell that the bartenders really know their cocktails, and serve every drink with their hearts’ pours. We started off light with Figgin Just Drink ($23) and Sloe Day ($23), which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Figgin Just Drink was one of their regulars’ favourites, and we can fully understand why. It was refreshingly floral. Furthermore, despite being a “lighter” drink, it was still very balanced, with good kicks of that alcoholic “oomph” which is uncommon in floral-styled cocktails.

Figgin Just Drink: Figs & Butterfly Pea-infused Gin, Giffard
Apricot, Lavender Bitters, Prosecco, Citric, Balsamic
Fig Syrup

Meanwhile Sloe Day was a fruitier cocktail — strong on the berry and fermented scent that the drink promised. The strawberry and rosemary shrub used in the drink was house-made, where they fermented the shrub for over three days to achieve this elite taste that extracts the sweetness of the strawberries perfectly.

Sloe Day: Yaguara Blue Cachaça, Monkey 47 Sloe Gin,
Strawberry & Rosemary Shrub, Cranberry Juice

In our second rounds we felt adventurous and tried the stronger and more interesting drinks.

Initially I was quite skeptical of North Side ($21), as I don’t usually opt for smoky drinks since they usually hits you too hard on the tongue. However, this drink was still so refreshing under the smokiness, with citrusy notes that lingers in your mouth leaving you wanting more. I felt like the smokiness was weaved in perfectly here. This drink that was crafted as a tribute to the North-landers really served as it promised, and is definitely something unique in the bar scene!

North Side: Montelobos Mezcal, Heering Cherry Liqueur,
Chartreuse Green, Tepache, Citric, Foamee

On the other hand, Que Sera Sera ($21) really spelt a plethora of flavours, with a rich and bittersweet cacao base complemented by a citrusy note. The spice in this drink sort of took us aback at first but after a few sips we started enjoying the excitement that it brings to the drink, and how it made the chocolatey flavours of the cocktail more pronounced.

Que Sera Sera: Herradura Tequila, Bitter Truth Pimento
Dram, Tempus Fugit Crème De Cacao, Giffard Agave Syrup, Chilli Smoked Solution, Citric

Bar bites to go with your drinks

Just as we thought good drinks are all we needed from the bar, they really proved us wrong by also serving us the best dishes to pair with your drinks.

As O/T bar is an alcohol-focused bar, they share their kitchen with Tipsy Panda, another bar under the Tipsy Collective, which neighbours O/T bar.

From the extensive menu, we strongly recommend their Wagyu Beef Cubes ($22). We have never tasted beef as good as this. Each cube was cooked to perfection; the meat was super tender, and it was fatty and beefy without it being too decadent.

Some notable bar bites you should try also include their Crispy Fish Skin with Rojak Dressing (2 for $22), and the Szechuan Mala Karaage (2 for $22).

The fish skin rajah was the work of a food genius, with the fishy fragrant of the fish skin complemented by the sweet and nutty rojak sauce. This sweet-and-savoury snack really goes so well with the drinks!

Meanwhile, the mala karaage was also a pleasant surprise for us. The mala spice super numbing and aromatic, and the karaage crispy on the outside while juicy on the inside.

A dessert highlight

Another menu highlight is the Tipsy’s Burnt Cheesecake ($12). It was this dish that had us dreaming of another trip to the bar again! The cheesecake was served warm, with a super creamy and comforting texture. There can be nothing better than this slice of cheesecake paired with a sweet scoop of ice cream.

Beyond the food and drinks, O/T bar is really a place that dedicates to its service. There are so many little fun features such as the “time in” and “time out” machine and individual punch cards that makes you feel like you are working there and then.

The staffs were also the best. Despite their busy work they will constantly move from tables to tables to check in on the customers, and the bond that the bartenders share with the customers is evident given how they return again and again, and even celebrating birthdays for each other. O/T bar really transformed Woodlands into a close-knitted bar community. They even have a private karaoke room hidden behind an unassuming letter box for you to sing your heart out to! What a better way to end off a week of work by clocking in to work at the O/T bar!
