5. Simon Cabaret Phuket

The “ladyboy” cabaret show is is a must-see if you’re in Thailand. For those who are unaware, Thailand is well-known for having attractive ladyboys, which are formally known as transgender or transvestite individuals.

Among the large cabarets in major cities like Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Bangkok, the Simon Cabaret Phuket is the best we’ve seen so far, with the most stunning cast and dazzling choreography. The performances include dances inspired from Southeast Asian countries and Russia, as well as modern songs from popular artistes like Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

Tickets are availale from $30 on their official website, but we recommend booking their VIP seats, which only costs $38, in advance to book the best seats.

6. James Bond Island-hopping tour

For a relaxing island-hopping adventure, we recommend the James Bond Island and Phang Nga Bay Day Tour.

Cinematic landscapes, gliding across the crystal-clear water on traditional Thai long-tail boat, and explore hidden lagoons and lush mangrove forests. This immersive experience offers the ultimate sightseeing experience without breaking a sweat (metaphorically; Phuket is really warm).

7. Phi Phi Island day trip

Alternatively, if you crave a little more excitement, perhaps the Phi Phi Island tour would fit you better.

Jet-ski around the island, swim and snorkel in a crystal clear lagoon, and if you’re lucky, you might even get to spot some mischievous monkeys on Monkey Island. Sightseeing is also on the itinerary, as you take gorgeous photos on a long-tail boat, and with the fluffiest sand at Maya Bay.

8. Surfing

9. The Big Buddha

Standing tall at an impressive 45 meters, this white marble marvel is a symbol of peace and spirituality.

While The Big Buddha may not be a must-visit, especially for those not inclined towards religious attractions, this attraction offers a unique and refreshing change of pace from the typical Phuket itinerary. Moreover, the breathtaking panoramic views from the site, visible from anywhere in southern Phuket, make it an ideal spot for witnessing both sunrise and sunset.

Keep in mind the cultural significance of the site and ensure modest dressing — covered shoulders, no beach attire, and knees covered. Upon entry, the staff provides free sarongs and shawls to those not meeting the attire requirements.

10. Old Phuket Town

While it may sound like an overrated tourist attraction, Old Phuket Town manages to preserve its genuine local charm. The focal point of this experience is the “Walking Street” Night Market at Lard Yai, a vibrant event held every Sunday from 4pm to 9pm. The ordinary road transforms into a haven of food and clothing vendors, as well as live entertainment.

If your Phuket itinerary does not align with the Sunday market, fear not, as Old Phuket Town is also teeming with cafes.

11. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary

12. Enough For Me home cafe’

More of an attraction than a cafe, Enough For Me home cafe’ is a home-based cafe in Phuket that is famous for the owner’s cats.

This hidden gem serves an array of freshly-brewed coffee and freshly-baked breads and cakes. The coffee is decent for its price, while the breads were really fluffy.

13. Aquaria

Delve into the depths of Aquaria, Thailand’s largest aquarium, housing an impressive array of over 25,000 captivating aquatic creatures.

As you traverse the aquarium’s enchanting displays, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the wonders of the ocean, leaving you with a sense of awe and admiration.

The attraction costs $38 per adult and $20 per child, which is relatively pricey for the size of the aquarium. However, Aquaria is affiliated with the 4D Trick Eye Museum, which is located beside. Hence, you can book both attractions together for a bundle price of $50 per adult and $28 per child.
