SAMKHA Cafe review – Best cat cafe in Hua Hin for just $1

SAMKHA - Cat cafe in Hua Hin

We’re not kidding when we say that this is the best cat cafe in Hua Hin.

SAMKHA Cafe also doubles as a cat and dog sanctuary of a sort — where you can pay 25 baht (barely $1) to mingle with at least a dozen cats.

This cafe is located further west from the coast of Hua Hin. If you’re planning your itinerary, we recommend pairing it with Pa La-U Waterfall, which is also in the same direction

Cat playing area in SAMKHA Cafe

This cat area is a glass room that is separated from the dining area of the cafe, and you’re required to purchase clean socks (the aforementioned 25 baht) to enter. Simply inform the staff that you wish to enter and they’ll settle the rest for you.

There’s no time limit, so you can literally stay here for an entire day. Honestly, I would have if not for other plans in the evening. The cats were all so friendly and excited to play with me, and the best part is, they’re not aggressive and did not even try to scratch me.

But, if a dozen cats is too much for you too handle, there will be a couple of cats and dogs that roam the dining area too. Our favourite is a pair of kittens that loved napping, and a big dog that would come up to you for pats.

Food and drinks at SAMKHA Cafe

The food and drinks here were also really reasonably priced — as most of Hua Hin’s cafes are — and tasted decent.

Iced Americano at SAMKHA Cafe

The coffee, which is relatively bitter, possibly due to the use of local robusta beans, starts from 25 baht ($1) here.

If you’re hungry, you can also some of their thick toasts.

Location: Hin Lek Fai, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan 77110, Thailand
