Hope you’re shore you’re ready to dive into this.

Is Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time free to enter?
Yes, admission to Singapore Odyssea is completely free for Singapore citizens and permanent residents. But we recommend booking a time slot on their website to avoid the queues.
When is it open to public?
The Singapore Odyssea exhibition officially opens to public on 8 August 2025.
What’s so special about this exhibition?

Unlike static museum displays, Singapore Odyssea is highly interactive, Instagram-worthy — think TeamLab.
Where Story of the Forest, its predecessor, invited you to wander among wildlife-inspired installations, Odyssea uses cutting-edge media—LED globes, digital waterfalls, responsive floors—and wristbands to guide you on a personalised journey.
A rundown of the exhibition
Before entering the exhibition, you’ll have to first pick your companion, which is a spirit animal that follows you along the exhibition.

The nine digital “fauna” guides, including pangolin, hornbill, crab, and more, will appear on the screens of the exhibitions. There are three colours to choose from — blue, orange and green — each housing three random companions.
No spoilers, but I got the otter!
The first room is the iconic LED Globe & Light Show that you might’ve seen all over Instagram and TikTok.
It showcases maritime routes that have connected Singapore to the rest of the world over the years.

Next, learn about Singapore’s history through the following four sections. This is where your companions come to live, and follow you along your journey. You’ll also be able to see other guests’ companions on the same screen.
- Episode 1: Setting Sail (Modern Independence)
- Episode 2: Riding Out the Storm (Wartime & Reconstruction)
- Episode 3: Age of Exploration (Colonial Era)
- Episode 4: Shores of Singapura (Pre-Colonial Beginnings)

For the best photos, head to the end, where a cinematic “waterfall” awaits. This huge curved screen, paired with a interactive floor that responds to your step, reveals key moments in Singapore’s history, like Singapore’s first National Day Parade and ancient coastal communities.

Lastly, release your companion by tapping your wristband on the digital “well”. It’s a symbolic nod to giving back to nature.
What’s the story behind this?
More than a spectacle, Singapore Odyssea underscores our nation’s intimate bond with the sea and environment, reminding us that heritage and sustainability go hand in hand. By blending multisensorial storytelling with ecological themes, the exhibition sparks curiosity about Singapore’s past and inspires action for our shared future.
When does this exhibition end?
There are no updates from National Museum of Singapore on the official end date of Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time.
Date: From 8 August 2025
