Tom Yam Seafood Pasta at Good Bites

Serving halal, western-fusion dishes at pocket-friendly prices, Good Bites is adorned with fairy lights and neon signs, and is open till 5am daily. We had a girls’ night out at this perfect late-night hangout spot and tried some of their popular menu items.

New starter

BBQ Basket with criss-cut fries at Good Bites
BBQ Basket ($17.9)

The BBQ Basket ($17.9) is new to the menu. A good sharing plate consisting of waffle fries, chicken wings, and- the highlight- yakitori sticks. The skewered meats were tender and well-marinated.

Main bites

Tom Yum Seafood Pasta ($14)

We unanimously agreed on the Tom Yum Seafood Pasta ($14) to be crowned the dish of the night. The tom yum sauce had depths of flavour and was savoury, spicy and tangy all at once.

Fried Chicken & Waffles ($16.9)

Might have had our expectations set high by the pasta that the Fried Chicken & Waffles ($16.9) was subpar. The chicken lacked seasoning and marination, and the waffle didn’t have the crispiest exterior to contrast the soft centre.

The Grilled Free Range Chicken ($17.5) and Baked Salmon ($19.9) made for healthier options, though the proteins were not the most tender.

Ending on a sweet note

Speculoos Croffle ($10)

The desserts and beverages are worthy of the highest form of compliment from an Asian – that they were not too sweet. The Speculoos Croffle ($10) would have been more exciting if, again, it had a crispier exterior.

Choc Banana Frappe ($10)

The Cookie Top ($9.9) milkshake and Choc Banana Frappe ($10) pleasantly took us by surprise. They sound and look over-the-top sweet but were actually perfect for sharing.

Overall, worth a trip down with friends and family, for a good time and good bites.
