Cheesecake and coffee’s basic. Let’s try it with wine.
Haus, a newly-opened cafe at KADA, is the first cheesecake and wine pairing concept in Singapore, and here’s what we think about it.
Gimmicky… or actually good?
It’s novel, that’s for sure. But if you think about it, wine and cheese platters go hand-in-hand together, so why wouldn’t it work for cheesecakes?
Spoiler alert: it worked out.
How’s the cheesecake?

Beyond its commonplace appearance, the Haus Cheesecake ($12) is not your ordinary basque burnt cheesecake. Look a little closer, and you’ll spot a delightful biscuit base as well.
Derrick, co-founder of Haus, shared that he perfected the classic New York Cheesecake for his online cake business years ago, before dabbling in basque burnt cheesecakes when they blew up during the pandemic. Since he could do both, why not combine it? You get the distinct char and caramelisation on top, as well as the buttery, crunchy base at the bottom — truly the best of both worlds.

The cheesecake was baked rare; so rare that Derrick had to place a piece of cardboard on the cross-section of the whole cake to prevent the filling from spilling out.
In terms of the taste — no complaints. This was rich, but not overwhelming. Neither was it too sweet. I could easily finish the whole thing and crave for a second slice.

What wine did Haus pair their cheesecake with?
Haus has curated two wines that complement their sweet, creamy cheesecake.
The Menade Sauvignon Blanc pairs wonderfully with cheesecake due to the wine’s balance of fruitiness and acidity. The wine’s tropical fruit notes, like mango and pineapple, complement the creamy richness of the cheesecake, adding a refreshing contrast. Meanwhile, the wine’s crisp acidity cuts through the richness, cleansing the palate between bites.
It’s priced at $15 per glass with the cheesecake, and $18 a la carte.
What if I hate wine… (LOL)…

If you’re not a fan of wine, and simply want a cup of coffee to go with Haus’ cheesecake, feel free to purchase coffee from any cafes in KADA. Pacto by Parchment, just beside Haus, makes an excellent cup of coffee or matcha. Echo, located further away, is great too.
Derrick has confirmed that he’s totally fine with you bringing in a cup of coffee to enjoy alongside their cheesecake. KADA has a collaborative culture, after all.
What else is on the menu?
In addition to cheesecakes and wine, Haus also serves a small variety of tapas, such as Truffle Brie ($32), Bruschetta ($12) and Duck Rilette ($23).
