KADA food guide – 10 cafes and restaurants to try

KADA Building Facade

The new New Bahru? Not quite…

KADA is the latest lifestyle oasis in the city, located in between Chinatown, Maxwell and Telok Ayer. With so many new cafes and restaurants, here’s a breakdown of what each eatery has to offer.

1. Pacto by Parchment

Hole in the wall concept at Pacto by Parchment KADA

You may have already spotted this café on TikTok, where they take ‘hole-in-the-wall’ quite literally by carving a window along Erskine Road, allowing you to grab-and-go a cup of drink.

Beyond their setup, they actually serve pretty solid cups of matcha and coffee. Allegedly, they’re the only cafe in Singapore that sources matcha powder from Fukuoka, which you can enjoy as a Matcha Latte, Koicha or Usucha.

For coffee, opt for their Momotaro for a peachy, juicy flavour, or their Sebastian Gomez La Divisa for a bold mix of fruits, floral and syrup richness.

Location: KADA, Level 1 (along Erskine Road)
Opening hours:
Mon-Fri: 8:30am-5pm
Sat-Sun: 9am-5pm

2. Haus

Cross section of Haus Cheesecake - a mix of New York and Basque Burnt Cheesecake

Starting out as a home-based business, Haus is the first cheesecake and wine pairing concept in Singapore.

For starters, the Haus Cheesecake ($12) is a unique blend of two styles. You get the buttery base of a classic New York-style, paired with the caramelised top and gooey centre of a Basque Burnt Cheesecake.

As for the wine, Haus recommends the Menade Sauvignon Blanc ($15). Its fruity notes pairs well with the sweetness of the cake, while its acidic profile helps to parry some of the richness.

Location: KADA, Level 1 (along Erskine Road)
Opening hours: TBC

3. Lavi Tapas

The sister brand of Lavi Tacos, a popular taco bar nestled in Pearl’s Hill Terrace, Lavi Tapas is one of the few eateries in KADA that serves dinner.

Enjoy tapas with an international twist, where traditional Mexican dishes are infused with the distinctive flavors of Japanese, Indian, and other global cuisines.

Location: KADA, Level 1 (all the way in)
Opening hours:
Mon-Wed: 6-11pm

4. Kyuukei Coffee

Filter Coffee at Kyuukei Coffee KADA

Translating to “break” in Japanese, take a break (and enjoy a KitKat) at this cosy cafe at KADA.

As a local roaster, they house a variety of coffee, available as either espresso-based drinks or filter coffee. Trust me, Jonathan, the founder, knows what he’s doing when it comes to coffee.

Pair your coffee with interesting toasties, such as a Brisket Pesto ($22), or a lighter Ricotta & Lemon Curd Thick Toast ($6).

Kyuukei’s first outlet is located in Alexandra.

Location: KADA, Level 1
Opening hours: 8am-4pm

5. Alani

Spread of bakes at Alani at KADA

When it comes to sourdoughs and other bakes, Alani is the place to be. You’ll be allured by a glorious setup of bakes at the door, and before you know it, you’ve bought a box of four.

Their sourdough comes in two options: a simple loaf topped with Za’atar ($11), or a more indulgent version featuring flavours like Fermented Pumpkin Pesto and Wagyu Beef ($18).

For those with a sweet tooth, there’s the nutty Baklava Cinnamon Roll or the Portokalopita ($10), a Greek cake topped with crispy phyllo pastry.

Location: KADA, Level 4

6. Proud Potato Peeler

For a taste of comfort, enjoy D’Penyet Heritage’s signature rice sets. Their extensive menu includes chicken, beef, duck, fish and even soup.

You can also customise your spice level from Level 1 to 7. Word on the street is their Level 3 is equivalent to a “medium spicy” for ma la, so pick wisely!

8. Kit & Kaboodle Coffee

Perfect for gym rats, this cafe, located at the main entrance of KADA, serves smoothies and protein shakes on top of their coffee and bakes menu.

9. Echo

Echo at KADA

Coffee and baked goods may be a common theme at KADA (with four cafes, really?), but what sets Echo apart is its stunning lamps and the soothing off-white and muted red color scheme. It’s the perfect cosy spot to enjoy a cup of coffee.

And if you’re tired of the usual brew, try their speciality coffees — either topped with a sweet vanilla cream or mixed with a refreshing passionfruit puree, ideal for a warm day.

Beyond a coffee, Echo aims to be an enterprise that echoes the ideas, feelings, or even just vibes of their patrons and partners.

Among their huge variety of tea, we recommend their KADA-exclusive drinks: Jasmine White Tea and Blueberry Jin Jun Mei Black Tea.
