Located at Joo Chiat, Heartware Store undergoes a bold transformation into “love hotel”, housing a humorous NSFW art exhibition.
From 24 January to 15 March 2026, This solo showcase by renowned Taiwanese artist IKUIKU, titled IKUIKU Love Hotel, pairs charmingly illustrated animals with unexpected sexual humour.

IKUIKU’s signature style features cartoon characters navigating explicit themes.
One of her standout series depicts various sexual positions inspired by popular adult genres, ranging from “yoga instructors” and “bunk beds” to “outdoor encounters”.
When we asked her what her favourite artwork was, IKUIKU laughed, admitting it was difficult to choose. But if she had to pick one, it would be the “kangaroos one” as it was one of her first few works.

Before cementing her current identity, IKUIKU’s portfolio was far more varied, including portraits, and even the Buddha statues in her hometown.

However, her transition into erotic art wasn’t without hurdles. Even when she produced respectful, proper drawings of the Buddha, intended as a tribute to her hometown’s cultural landmarks, she faced a wave of complaints. Because her reputation for provocative, NSFW art had become so well-known, critics found it impossible to separate her spiritual subjects from her erotic ones.
It was only during a trip to Australia, where she solidified her identity, choosing to prioritise her own creative happiness over the noise of external criticism.
The exhibition’s opening day on 24 January featured an exclusive artist talk and live portrait sessions, where fans had the rare opportunity to be captured through IKUIKU’s signature playful lens.
