CJ Hendry Flower Market plush flowers immersive art Gardens by the Bay Singapore June 2026

There’s a room at Gardens by the Bay right now that’s been transformed into a floor-to-ceiling sea of plush flowers — and you get to walk through it for free, then take one home.

This is Cj Hendry’s Flower Market, the viral installation that’s already sold out New York, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, and Sydney, now making its Southeast Asian premiere in Singapore. It’s only here from 10-14 June 2026.

Australian contemporary artist Cj Hendry — known for hyperreal large-scale drawings and immersive installations that blur the line between illusion and reality — has taken over IMBA Theatre at Gardens by the Bay for five days only. The Flower Market reimagines the experience of a traditional flower stall at an extraordinary scale: thousands of plush stems, 30-plus varieties, and a room that looks like every florist in Singapore crammed into one space. Entry is free, every visitor gets a complimentary plush flower, and additional stems are $7 each.

What you can expect?

The installation fills an entire room with thousands of plush flower stems — 30-plus varieties in total — arranged to recreate the visual chaos of an actual flower market. You wander through at your own pace, browse the blooms, and at checkout, choose one stem to take home (for free btw, in case it wasn’t clear earlier)

Three of those varieties exist nowhere else in the world. Cj Hendry created Singapore-exclusive flowers specifically for this run: the Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim (Singapore’s national flower), the Raffles’ Pitcher Plant, and the Singapore Ginger Flower.

The experience is self-paced and takes roughly an hour. But one important note: there’s no re-entry once you exit, so take your time choosing your flower before you head out.

Why it’s worth going?

Flower Market has already sold out in four cities. Singapore is its Southeast Asian premiere, and it’s only here for five days. The three Singapore-exclusive stems — particularly the Miss Joaquim — give it a hook beyond the standard immersive pop-up: you’re getting something that’s genuinely one of a kind. Walk-ins are welcome throughout the day now that pre-registration is fully claimed, but capacity is limited. Your best bet is arriving before 11am or after 7pm to avoid the peak crowd.
