Joji runs a sandwich parlour?
You’re thinking of a different Joji, but TikTok-viral retro Joji’s Diner has just launched their brand new concept on 1 October 2024.
Joji’s Sandwich Parlour offers a myriad of hearty and thick sandwiches, alongside crispy sides, diner desserts, and more.
Our honest review of Joji’s Sandwich Parlour
Good vibes and chunky sandwiches. What’s not to like?
Overall, we had a great time at Joji’s Sandwich Parlour and everything here minimally met our expectations. On first glance, the sandwiches did seem smaller than what I would expect. But damn, did they taste good. With two complimentary sides, I found it a satisfying and filling meal for its price.

How are the sandwiches?
Joji’s Sandwich Parlour’s menu comprises nine sandwiches.

The Classic Reuben ($24) is their best-seller, and for good reason. The brisket is brined for 14 days, ensuring that every inch of that meat is permeated with an addictive salty flavour. For balance, it was also topped with a layer of sauerkraut and Swiss cheese.
This sandwich is available in sourdough or focaccia form.

Meanwhile, the Louisiana classic Shrimp Po’Boy ($22) is reinvented for a more bougie bite. Shrimps are replaced with big, fat tiger prawns, which was bestowed with a smokey char from the grill. Very flavourful, very meaty, and it paired well with the citrusy julius dressing.
Even though the roll looked hard and crusty, it was unbelievably soft. This was our favourite between the two.
Each sandwich comes with two free sides, with the choices comprising of Potato Salad, Pico De Gallo, Onion Rings, Mushrooms, Grilled Corn Kernels, Coleslaw, Pasta Salad, Fries, and Potato Mash.
Other food items at Joji’s Sandwich Parlour
Aptly named “Not Sandwiches”, the retro diner also serves other mains, such as Smoked Brisket ($24), Smoked Ribeye Steak ($24), and their special Joji’s Lasagna ($18).

What’s so special about their lasagna is that each serving undergoes the additional process of breading and deep-frying, giving it that nice crusty layer on all edges.
The flavours were amazing, as what the description on the menu promises — “freshly made confirm nice”. It was meaty and sweet, not too overpowering and not too oily despite being deep-fried.
Sides for sharing

The Fresh Calamari ($14) is highly recommended as each batch is freshly imported from Jurong Port daily.
The calamari had a nice crunch, on top of its already crispy layer. But personally, I’m not a huge fan of the marinara dip.

Meanwhile, for those who would never eat their vegetables, this is the perfect time to incorporate some greens in your diet — the Fried Okra ($12).
Drinks at Joji’s Sandwich Parlour
I wouldn’t think that a retro diner would pay attention to their drinks, but the coffee and matcha here were superb.

They brew their coffee with freshly-roasted coffee from Stranger’s Reunion. Its Iced Black ($5) had a crispy fruity profile without being too acidic.
Meanwhile, their Matcha Latte ($5.9) was just decent. They use Kyoto Uji Matcha, but the drink leans more towards a sweet and milky profile.
For a funky drink to cut all the richness of the food, we recommend the Yuzu & Matcha Soda ($6.9). It’s fizzy and citrusy, and more importantly, there was a good balance between the yuzu and matcha.
