I’m usually on Team Pancakes but I’m not so sure how I feel about croffles. Easily derivable from its name, croffles are croissants that are baked in a waffle machine. Flaky, waffle-shaped, and all-you-can-eat only at Walking On Sunshine’s Kroffle Buffet.

Garden-theme cafe at Somerset, Walking On Sunshine

The buffet at Orchard Central is available daily from 9am- 12pm, with a restriction of 1.5 hours and last order at 11am. It’s also S$14.9++ per person, with additional costs from drinks.

You get to choose from 8 salivating flavours: Honey-mustard Cream Cheese, Corn-Cheese, Bacon-Mash Potato, Garlic Cream-Cheese, Mix-berry, Lime-Avocado, Chocolate and Cinnamon.

Our general consensus was that the buffet was worth every penny. One croffle already costs S$6.9 so it only takes 3 pieces to get your money back, which really isn’t difficult.

I feel like you’d either love or hate the texture of croffles. You get the same flakiness and a touch more crispiness, but at the expense of the airiness that good croissants provide. If it’s worth anything, we loved it.

Our favourites were the Cinnamon and Corn-Cheese. The Cinnamon was simple and not too sweet while the Corn-Cheese was light and had a good balance of sweet and savoury.

The Honey-Mustard Cream Cheese was also really appetizing with its sharp tang but I would prefer a touch more richness from the cream cheese. Same goes for the Garlic Cream Cheese.

Meanwhile, the Chocolate and Mixed Berries were simply delicious. I mean, how can you go wrong with chocolate and jam?

Do note that the Kroffle Buffet is not valid with any other promotions, discounts and other vouchers. And to avoid wastage, they will only serve 2 kroffles at a time per customer.
