You don’t have to stick to local food when you’re in Thailand.
If you love a good meaty steak in your mouth, LAVA Fire Grill is an underrated steakhouse that offers dry-aged steaks at a ridiculously affordable price.
Our honest review of LAVA Fire Grill
First impression: classy, but not pretentious. With its dim lighting and posh furnishing, LAVA Fire Grill

In terms of value, I thought it was such a worth it meal. The dry-aged steaks were fantastic — tender, nice funky flavour. The sides were surprisingly good too. We spent an average of $80 per person, though it would be lower if you order their regular steaks.
Dry-aged steaks at LAVA Fire Grill
Choose from three types of dry-aged steaks here, with prices starting from as low as 660 bath per 100g.

The Ribeye Black Angus (660 baht / 100g) is perfect for those who prefer a milder funk, a distinct flavour developed during the dry-aged process.

It was great. But personally, I preferred the stronger flavours of the Wagyu Rump (790 baht / 100g), aged for 30 days in miso butter.
The last item is the Tenderloin Black Angus (990 baht / 200g), dry-aged for 30 days in herb butter.
Omakase steak platter
If you’re here in a group, you can also consider their Omakase steak menu, which comprises four different types of steaks.
The Original (5,490 baht), includes Angus Ribeye (300g), Angus Tenderloin (250g), Wagyu Hanger (250g), Wagyu strip Steak (250g), served with three sauces.
Meanwhile, the Wagyu (6,690 baht), includes Wagyu Ribeye (300g), Wagyu Tenderloin (250g), Wagyu Hanger (250g), Wagyu Strip Steak (250g), served with three sauces
The dry-aged funk is apparently, especially those that are aged in miso butter. It’s also affordable too, with the dry-aged options starting from 660 baht per 100g.
Side dishes

For sharing, order the Beef Tartare and Bone Marrow (590 baht), a combination of two popular starters. A generous portion raw beef tenderloin, mixed in a spicy Asian spice blend, is scooped on top of the bone marrow.
Personally, I thought the spices were slightly overpowering. The buttery flavours of the bone marrow playing more of a supporting role than taking center stage. But it was still an interesting change of pace compared to their standard versions.
The Hokkaido Uni Toast (990 baht) is also a popular item here.
