Bochinche review – Is the Saturday steak buffet worth it?

Bochinche, an Argentinian steakhouse at Telok Ayer, offers a 90-minute free flow steak and fries experience every Saturday.

With only two choices on the menu, many might be asking, is $70 per person really worth the money?

Our honest review of Bochinche

$70 includes unlimited servings of steak and frites, as well as one beverage.

Steaks at Bochinche starts at $65 per 300g. This means, at $70, any additional unit of steak you consume is free. But of course, it’s not just about the value. The steaks, flown in from Argentina, had such a beefy flavour to them.

You can also top up $12 for a side dish. As good as some of them were, economically, why would you be spending extra when you’ve already paid for a buffet though! But, if you insist, we will include some of our recommendations at the end of the review.

So how were the steaks?

Bochinche switches up their offerings every now and then. When I visited in October 2024, the two options were “Beefland” Ribeye and “Robbins Island” Inside Skirt.

The steak is served in 200g portions, and come with a side of fries and a choice of either a creamy peppercorn sauce and red wine jus.

If you’re not sure which to choose, I recommend getting one each and sharing half a portion, so you’ll have an idea of what each steak tastes like.

In general, a ribeye tend to be more tender and lighter in flavour, while the skirt has a much more potent beefy profile.

However, the “Beefland” Ribeye this round, was surprisingly beefier.

The highlight had to be their creamy mushroom, cooked in a Thai-inspired coconut cream, which doubles as cream for your steak as well.

Available from 11:30am to 3pm every Saturday, Bochinche’s Saturday Free Flow steak costs $70 per person, including one beverage.
