Asian food at a bar?
We tried dining at LECOQ, an Asian-inspired cocktail bar in between Telok Ayer and Raffles Place, and here’s what we think.
Our honest review of LECOQ
We had a great time a LECOQ. Good ambience and conveniently located just a few minutes walk from Telok Ayer and Raffles Place MRT Stations. But more importantly, the Asian dishes here were cooked to perfection. This might be one of our favourite Asian-inspired bars in Singapore.
Food at LECOQ
Expect a variety of Asian-inspired dishes at LECOQ.

Their most popular dish might be the Steak Scorched Rice ($28), and for good reason. This was such a steal for the portion of beef and rice served, and of course, the quality of the food was high as well.
Steak was perfectly cooked, fried rice had nice charry bits and I appreciated how it wasn’t too flavourful and salty. The flavours were balanced here.
You can also consider getting the Salmon Mentai Pasta ($22), Spicy Salmon Udon ($19), and Chilli Ban Mee with Pork Chop ($18).

But, if you’re in the mood for mala, opt for their new offering. The Chicken Mala Pot (price TBC) comes in a generous portion. Lots of chicken, which were tender and flavoured throughout — and lots of vegetables.
The mala pots come in two spice levels, and if you have a low spice tolerance, you’ll be delighted to know that even their level 2 is barely a “xiao la” (small spicy).

For sides, we recommend sharing a Roasted Bone Marrow ($12).
Sometimes compared to as the meat version of butter, this bone marrow was perfectly rendered down into a soft, gelatinous consistency that melts straight in your mouth. It was rich and a little salty, and I love the addition of a glaze on top which adds a touch of sweetness to the dish.
As if the bone marrow is not sinful enough, it’s also paired with buttered brioche on the side.
Cocktails at LECOQ
Just like their food menu, the cocktails at LECOQ also abides by the Asian theme, with unique creations such as Pipagao Cocktail.
Of course, the classics are available.

We tried their Low-Carbs Whisky Sour ($12), which tastes surprisingly close to the real deal.
Don’t worry if you don’t drink as their mocktails are also reasonably priced — at $6.

What about tacos and Japanese?
If you’ve seen videos of LECOQ online before, you might’ve spotted tacos, skewers and sashimi in their order. That’s because LECOQ is founded and managed by the same team behind The Taco Bar and Miss G Grill and Bar, which are located right beside.
Hence, if you’re here with a big group, fret not as they have an even wider variety of food to choose from, in addition to LECOQ’s offerings.
