What is Busan most famous for?

Some might instantly think of Busan Gamcheon Village, also known as the Machu Picchu of the east. Meanwhile, foodies might mention Jagalchi Fish Market with its raw octopus, or Jeonpo Cafe Street’s wide variety of cafes.

If you’re looking for food in Busan, Dolgorae Sundubu has been serving authentic sundubu (soondubu), a soft tofu stew, since 1982.

The menu comprises of slightly different variations, but we went for the Original Sundubu (₩7,000). It consists of the sundubu, which is served in a steaming hot stone pot, a bowl of white rice, and side dishes.

It was warm and comforting, definitely one of my most memorable dishes in Busan. Not to mention, it was affordable.

The humble shop is situated in Nampo-dong, the centre of the coastal city. Popular tourist attractions in the area include Gukje Market, Busan Tower, Yongdusan Park, Trick Eye Museum and Bosu Book Street.

Dolgorae Sundubu located on the second floor, and their sign is in Korean, which makes it slightly hard to find. Hence, when you’re on the right street, just look out for the “vintage store” sign in red and proceed to the second floor.
