I might be setting myself up for disappointment elsewhere, but this might honestly be the best steak in Johor Bahru I’ve ever had.

Our honest review of Fire Pitz
You can watch the chefs grill the meat over a combination of Binchotan and traditional charcoal with firewood, giving every steak that perfect smoky aroma and deep char.
The cuts change frequently, depending on what’s available that day, and we had the Dry Aged Black Angus Sirloin (RM 550) that evening.

Served on a rustic wooden board, the steak was aromatic, buttery, and tender. The dry-aging process really amplified the beefiness, giving it a silky and melt-in-your-mouth texture that had me savouring every bite. Even without any sauce, the beef on its own was perfect.
What about the sides?
Even the sides at Fire Pitz impressed. The Grilled Cherry Tomato on Vine (RM 28) came on a thin layer of chive oil and balsamic reduction, topped with chimichurri, giving it a fresh and tangy flavour. The Grilled Cameron White Corn (RM 34) was juicy and perfectly charred, a side dish that truly stood out.
One dish that completely surprised me was the Kaya Foie Gras Toast (RM 85). I’ve had plenty of foie gras toasts, but the addition of kaya gave it a playful and comforting twist that really worked.

Another highlight was the Fowl & Earth (half, RM 98). It’s easy to assume steak would steal the show at a steakhouse, but this chicken was ridiculously good. Tender throughout and coated in a rich, creamy sauce, it was a dish I didn’t want to end.

Desserts were unique as well. The Prune Sticky Toffee Pudding (RM28) was indulgent, and the Mango Refreshing (RM28) was a nice surprise, lightly charred, slightly smoky, and naturally sweet.

I have to warn you first. Prices aren’t cheap, but honestly, you’re paying for quality that justifies it. Just be warned… you might find it hard to enjoy steaks anywhere else afterward.
