Looking for affordable Korean food at Tanjong Pagar?

Hororok, inspired by the slurping sound made when enjoying stews and soups, specialises in affordable Korean stews.

Located at International Plaza along Anson Road, the humble store is opened by a husband and wife duo.

Their menu comprises Gochujang Jjigae, Kimchi Jjigae, and Doenjang Jjigae, which are stews that are brewed with chili paste, kimchi and soybean paste respectively. Budae Jjigae, or more commonly known as Army Stew, and Soondubu Jjigae, tofu stew, are also available.

Stews cost $8.9 for the regular and $10.9 for the large.

The Kimchi Jjigae was light and tangy, filled with cubed pork belly and firm tofu.

For a meatier profile, we recommend the Soondubu Jjigae. The stew was loaded with curdled soft tofu, with the option to add-on meat or mushrooms.

Every stew comes with a bowl of rice or noodles.
