The team behind Noci Pasta Bar opens a new cafe in Tanjong Pagar. With their track record, this cafe is one to add to the must-try list.
Aside from the usual coffee and matcha, we recommend their speciality cloud drinks. The Matcha Cloud ($8) impressed with a nice touch of astringency, while the Ube Latte Cloud ($8) offers a unique profile that isn’t found in most other cafes in Singapore.
For food, you’ll find a small selection of brunch and bakes. While the savoury items, such as the Truffle Egg Soldier ($13), were not bad, we highly recommend their Ricotta Honeybutter & Ice Cream Croissant ($17).
Their outdoor seating is pet-friendly.

Equate Coffee is a minimalistic industrial cafe in Tanjong Pagar Plaza. It was famous for its math-symbol aesthetics, but their coffee and bakes are pretty good too.
They concoct their own house blend, which is a typically chocolate-y and nutty profile. Coffee is priced at $7 for an Iced White $6.5 for an Iced Black. You can also opt for their matcha. The Iced Matcha Latte ($7) is made with matcha powder from Ajisai Niko Neko, a rather highly-rated brand originating from Kuala Lumpur.
Alternatively, you can try their cold brew blend, 50’s Brew ($7.5) which combines earl grey tea and cream with cold brew black.
Equate Coffee also has a second outlet in Orchard Central, which serves mains as well.

But, that’s not all it’s known for. Baristart Coffee’s menu also includes adorable desserts. The most famous being the Shiro Kuma Shaved Ice ($11.8), which is a shaved ice in the shape of a bear. The Softo Puff ($7) and Softcream ($7) are also popular.
While they do have brunch, Barisart is more famous for its bakes and coffee, so you can consider dining in another restaurant in the area.
Aside from their first outlet in Tanjong Pagar, Baristart Coffee can also be found in Sentosa.

Despite translating to “coffee” in English, Kyo Kohee is actually more famous for their matcha latte.
So, if you’re looking for a good cuppa grass, head down to Robinson Rd, located beside Tanjong Pagar MRT Station.
In addition to using ceremonial grade matcha, the great thing about this matcha latte-cafe is that they offer various forms of matcha for you to choose. For instance, the Okumidori ($7.9) is supposed to taste more balanced, while the Utsukushi ($9.9) has a punchier botanical note. Personally, the Utsukushi Matcha Latte hit the spot for me (I love them thick and bitter).
Kyo Kohee also serves mains, despite having limited seats in their store. However, we haven’t tried it personally, and we haven’t seen too many reviews on them either.

Despite the mention of 10 cents, each pancake is actually priced at $5, similar to how Japan prices their rendition of the cheesy pancakes. Each pancake is filled with a huge block of mozzarella, which turns into a gooey, satisfying mess as the pancake shell cooks.
