Their Ceremonial Matcha (different varieties over the past two years have always impressed). But, if you’re looking for something sweet, their Strawberry Matcha Latte is their best-seller.

2. Studio Frond
Don’t be fooled by their gimmick. Their matcha’s actually really solid even without it.
If you haven’t heard, this matcha bar at Joo Chiat offers a floral arrangement experience where you get to DIY your takeaway tray from $15.
But, their two matcha varieties really impressed.
Matcha purists should go for their Usucha (from $6) or Matcha Latte (from $7.5) to fully savour the nuances of their matcha powder. But, their matcha speciality drinks, such as the Miso Butterscotch Matcha (from $8.5) and White Corn Matcha (from $9.5) were really impressive as well.

The stall uses premium Niko Neko matcha, known for its rich flavour and vibrant colour, with popular best-seller Strawberry Matcha Latte ($7) and their signature Matcha Latte ($5). Reviews have praised the spot for delivering quality matcha drinks at reasonable prices.

A strong rival to Kurasu, SYIP also serves an excellent Dirty Matcha ($7.5), perfectly balanced with a bold espresso flavour followed by a grassy matcha finish. They use a robust matcha powder from Niko Neko, a Kuala Lumpur-based café sourcing from Mie, Japan.
Don’t miss their Matcha Raspberry ($7.9) either. While strawberry matcha lattes are common, the raspberry version works surprisingly well, offering a less sweet and slightly tart profile that lets the matcha stand out.

Instead, try the Matcha Lemonade ($5.9). Despite the sourness, it’s refreshingly tangy, grassy, and milk-free—perfectly balanced.
