I felt like I walked into a snowglobe at this unique glass dome restaurant located on a rooftop.
With magnificent views of Bangkok and a romantic floral setup, everything at Lacol Bangkok at Staybridge Hotel Bangkok Thonglor was simply stunning.

First impression of Lacol
I have visited several Instagrammable and aesthetically beautiful restaurants in different countries, but dining in this glass dome was truly a phenomenal experience for us.

We heard that these glass domes are really exclusive and hard to reserve as they’re really high in demand. My friend even asked me how I managed to book this spot, as she failed to make a reservation some time ago unfortunately.
There are only three glass domes at the outdoor seating area, but if this is too over-the-top for you, you can also reserve the other tables that also has the city view (without the dome).

I would recommend to book the glass domes at 5.30pm as it would have the best sunset lighting.
If you’re worried about the sweltering heat in Bangkok, this glass dome is fully air-conditioned and it was really cooling during the meal.
What we ate at Lacol Bangkok
You might be wondering if it’s worth paying a premium for these glass domes, I’d have the same thought. But we genuinely enjoyed the food a lot.
I have to say, unfortunately the prices aren’t Bangkok-friendly, but then again you can’t really make a fair comparison when the place has such a romantic ambience that you cannot get anywhere else.

The Japanese Pumpkin Soup (THB 690) was served in a mini pumpkin.
While it looked undeniably luxurious, its taste matched its presentation ‚ rich, creamy and wonderfully fragrant.
We also enjoyed the Seaweed Akami (THB 890), where the fresh tuna had a delightful crunch, complemented by caviar, mango, and avocado for a refreshing burst of flavor.

The Lacol Waffle Special Set (THB 2,990) was easily my favourite.
You can mix and match the various seafood toppings on your waffle biscuits for an enjoyable bite. It may not look like much, but it was surprisingly filling, I’d say it’s perfect for sharing among four people.
For the mains, we had the Beef Rosini (THB 2,900), featuring a beef tenderloin topped with foie gras and caviar, served with a cherry sauce. While the beef was slightly tough to cut through, the creamy foie gras complemented it beautifully.

Other things to note:
There is a minimum spend of THB 2000 for 2 pax to book the glass dome.
There are also two sessions for the glass dome: 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Reservations are required.
Location: 30th floor, Staybridge Suites Bangkok, 101 Thong Lo, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110
Opening hours: 5:30pm-12am
