Noodle pull for PastaGo's Marinara with Grilled Chicken

Fresh pasta is hard to beat for its silky and springy texture. However, its significantly higher price point might turn many towards dried pasta instead.

PastaGo is a newly opened pasta takeaway concept, with branches at Jurong East and Tiong Bahru, that serves fresh pasta from as low as $4.9.

Take your pick from four pasta shapes — fettuccine, Mafalde, pappardelle, campanelle — and six pasta bases.

Marinara w Grilled Chicken

We highly recommend the Marinara w Grilled Chicken ($6.9) as the sauce was the most well-balanced in terms of herbs and spices. The chicken was also tender, flavourful, and well-marinated.

Meanwhile, the Beef Bolognese w Spinach & Sous Vide Egg ($9.9) allowed the flavours of the beef-based stew to shine through, avoiding a one-dimensional tomato flavour.

Fans of cream-based pastas can give the Al Limone w Smoked Salmon ($10.9) a go.

Alternatively, try their Carbonara w Smoked Duck ($9.4), made the traditional way with eggs instead of cream. When we first tried these two sauces three months ago, we were displeased by the grainy texture from the cheese. However, our recent experience at their newly-opened branch at Tiong Bahru Plaza proved to be much better.

Lastly, the Aglio e Olio with Seared Prawns ($5.9) a classic that’s hard to get wrong. Except when the chef was overgenerous with the amount of olive oil. While there was a strong punch of garlic, this was too oily for our liking.
