We might have just found the next best date idea in Singapore this year.
It’s no surprise that couples love art jammings, or any DIY workshops in general. Well, we’ve got a new activity that just opened up in Tai Seng, and the final product is as functional as it is gorgeous.
Requisite is the only DIY vintage watch workshop in Singapore, priced at $78 per person, or $150 per pair.
Our review of Requisite’s watch workshop
$78 is a reasonable price for a one-hour workshop, especially when you get to walk away with a functional watch. To be honest, I’ve actually been wearing it every alternate day.
I loved how Requisite offered so many options, from the watch dial and straps to the individual charms.

Angeline, the Founder of Requisite, explained that if you’re lucky enough, you might even find one-of-a-kind pieces that she and her partner thrifts when they’re overseas. Unfortunately for me, they were all out during our visit. So we settled for their regular designs instead.

But, I have to admit, I would’ve probably gone for a more basic option regardless, such as this minimalistic square-faced dial.
How it works?
The workshop is straightforward.

Step 1: Pick your watch dial and straps.
What I love most about the straps is that there are various ways you can design it beyond the regular around-the-wrist fashion. But, I’ll leave that part to Angeline to surprise you.
Step 2: Measure and cut.
Angeline will recommend an appropriate length for your wrist, and assist you with cutting the chains.

Step 3: Pick your buckle.
You can choose from the standard watch buckles of different sizes and shapes. Personally, I went for their T-buckle, which is a rod that you can slot into a ring to hold your watch in place.
Step 4: Attach the pieces.
This part takes the longest, especially if you’re not nimble with your fingers. Essentially, you’ll have to attach the dial, strap and buckle with two pliers and some rings.

Step 5: Customise your watch strap with an assortment of charms.
How much does it cost?
Requisite’s Vintage Watch Workshop costs $78 per pax and $150 per pair.

If you’d like to make your watch at their HQ at Tai Seng, you’re required to make a reservation in advance.
They are also available at at pop-ups around town, specifically with Curbside Crafters every Tuesday to Sunday, 11am-730pm, and Bugis Resurrack Market every weekend, 3-9pm.
