If you’ve ever felt that fresh flowers are too fleeting to justify the cost, crafting your own might just change your mind.
Whether you’re planning a romantic date or looking for a unique bachelorette activity, this new DIY workshop in Singapore offers a fun yet rewarding experience, even for those who don’t consider themselves artsy.
Located at Chinatown’s Pearl’s Hill Terrace, Flowersbyfour, a paper-craft workshop provides a fully guided session where participants learn how to cut, shape and fold crepe paper into beautiful blooms.
Which workshop should you pick?
There are two types of workshops at Flowersbyfour:
- Little Bud ($68): A 2-hour intro to paper flower crafting, curated flow (perfect for first-timers)
- Full Bloom ($98): The full paper-to-bloom experience, up to 4 hours of mindful crafting
If you’re wondering about the difference between the two workshops, the Little Bud version has a few steps pre-prepared, most notably the flower bud, which is usually the trickiest part for beginners.
But if you’re up for a challenge and have a bit more time, I’d highly recommend choosing the Full Bloom class. My friends and I walked in with zero paper-flower experience, yet we all managed to create a flower stalk that looked surprisingly impressive.
Each participant gets to craft one complete flower stalk during the workshop. The type of flower changes seasonally as well.

Our experience
The workshop is kept intentionally intimate, typically with 4 participants (maximum of 8). This ensures everyone receives ample guidance from Ivy, the instructor and Founder of Flowersbyfour.
Each session includes all crafting materials, crepe paper, and even an instruction booklet with templates that you can take home to continue creating more blooms on your own.
Overall, I found the experience both therapeutic and rewarding. It was really satisfying to see your flower stalk come to life, petal by petal, leaf by leaf.
