If you’ve ever had to renovate your home while living with a pet, you’ll know how tough it is to find a temporary place that welcomes both of you.
That’s why lyf one-north Singapore was such a rare find — not only do they offer long-term stays, but they also have dedicated pet-friendly rooms that make the transition feel a lot more manageable (and a lot less stressful).
A stay that feels like home
We checked into their One-of-a-Kind Studio, a cosy 12sqm space that, while small on paper felt surprisingly functional.

Fridge, microwave, and ironing board are tucked away in the communal pantry space on every floor, freeing up room for what matters such as lounging around with my pup and bingeing shows via the TV’s Chromecast function.
Don’t worry, there are tons of underbed storage and shelves to store your luggage and belongings. It’s well-thought-out space that encourages intentional living.

The open wardrobe and sink-outside-bathroom design might not be for everyone, but I appreciated the clever layout and how it aligned with their sustainability ethos.
Pet-friendly events & workshops
This isn’t just an accommodation that accepts pets. lyf actively includes them in their programming.
We got lucky during our stay as there was a pet adoption drive happening on-site. There were adorable cats and dogs, live DJs, a Best Dressed Pet Contest, and even a surprise performance by a troupe of talented dogs.

But what really stood out was the Essential Pet Massage workshop ($15/pax). I learned how to ease my dog’s anxiety with basic massage techniques. It was equal parts informative and wholesome, and something I never thought I’d get to do at other accommodations.

There was also a Punch Needle Embroidery session happening ($15/pax), we learnt basic punch needle techniques and applied it to our artwork. It added a really personal and artsy touch to the stay.
A community vibe
The whole property is designed for connection, between people, pets, and ideas. Whether it’s chilling at the CONNECT communal lounge, playing with your pets on the HANG OUT rooftop or doing your laundry at Wash & Hang, everything feels like it was designed with community in mind.

There’s even a social kitchen (Bond), BBQ pits, a gym (Burn), and a green lawn (To-Gather) where events like yoga or music festivals are regularly held. We spent an afternoon just relaxing at the amphitheatre (Meet) watching the best-dressed pet contest from the pet adoption drive, which was such a refreshing switch from the usual “Netflix in bed” routine.
Convenient location with great food options

Being in one-north, I was initially worried we’d be too far from everything, but turns out it’s quite the opposite. We were minutes away from one-north MRT, with great food options at Star Vista, Rochester Mall, and Fusionopolis all within walking distance.

Whether you’re craving Korean BBQ, artisan coffee, or a good salad, the choices are endless. And the entire area is super walkable, with pedestrian paths and PMD access routes that make getting around easy. On top of that, the surrounding area was filled with lush greenery and open spaces, perfect for taking my dog on leisurely walks.
