Let me cut to the chase.
if you’re a tourist visiting Singapore, this hotel is a solid choice. It’s not the fanciest, but it gets the two most important things for a visitor totally right: the view and the location.
We stayed at Wyndham Singapore, located just beside City Hall MRT Station, for two nights, and here’s what we think of it.
The perfect skyline view
We stayed in the Executive Bay View King Room.
Waking up to the full Marina Bay Sands skyline right outside the window was truly amazing. In fact, the rooftop Sky Lounge also offers the same incredible view, perfect for photos.

The room itself is very spacious, with plenty of room to move around and store your luggage. One point to note, the TV is placed in a slightly awkward corner, but it can be pulled out and adjusted to face the bed for easy viewing.
Accessible location
It’s super easy to get everywhere, the nearest MRT — City Hall — is just a few minutes away.
From there you can get to popular tourist attractions, and even touristy areas like Chinatown and Orchard Road for shopping or anywhere else conveniently.
Nearby attractions
- Old Hill Street Police Station (4-min walk)
- National Gallery Singapore (5-min walk)
- CHIJMES (6-min walk)
- Clarke Quay (7-min walk)
- National Museum of Singapore (10-min walk)
- Esplanade (15-min walk)
- Bugis (7-min bus ride)
- Chinatown (9-min bus ride)
- Orchard (18-min train ride)
- Marina Bay Sands (20-min bus ride)
Facilities

The gym was quite spacious and had a good range of equipment, including cable machines, which aren’t very common in some hotels. It also has two treadmills if you’re looking to get a cardio workout in.

If you’re looking to squeeze in a swim, Wyndham Hotel has two swimming pools to choose from — The Falls at Peninsula Tower and Stillwater at Excelsior Tower. We even spotted a unicorn floatie in one of the pools, perfect for photos or just lounging in the water.

Club Lounge and Breakfast
Guests with club access can visit The Study on Level 1. For breakfast, you have a choice between the Sky Lounge, which is more exclusive but offers a smaller selection, or Jaspe Restaurant, which is busier but has a wider variety of food.

I’d recommend this to friends visiting from abroad. You’re probably not going to be hanging out in the hotel all day, so you just need a comfy bed, a great view and an easy trip back on the MRT.
But if you’re a local looking for a super luxurious “staycation” with amazing restaurants and a buzzing pool scene, you might find it a bit basic.
