Chye Seng Huat Hardware (CSSH) Coffee was home to several hardware stores in the past. But, it’s converted into the famous roastery and cafe today.

A hidden gem between Jalan Besar and Bendemeer, Frontyard, is a spacious cafe that specialises in macarons, cakes and brunch.

The macarons — almost like “fatcarons” — were the star of the show. The macaron shells had a nice chew, and were not too sweet. The respective flavours were also pronounced. Out of Frontyard’s repertoire of flavours, the ones that caught our eyes were Pistachio Berry ($4.5), Soya Mochi ($4.5) and Royal Earl Grey ($4.5).

Instead of one macaron, treat yourself to their Yard’s High Tea ($22), which includes a choice of coffee, one macaron, one mini slider, and a scone.
