Looking for an affordable staycation that comes with the comforts of home? We recently checked into Citadines Rochor Singapore, a hotel nestled at the doorstep of Little India, and it turned out to be a practical choice for both short getaways and longer stays.
One of its biggest draws is undoubtedly its location. Situated within Tekka Place, the property is just a minute’s walk from Rochor MRT Station and around five minutes from Little India MRT, making it easy to get around Singapore while being surrounded by plenty of local eateries, cafes and cultural attractions.
One-Bedroom Deluxe Loft

We stayed in the One-Bedroom Deluxe Loft, which immediately felt more spacious thanks to its double-volume ceiling. The loft-style layout gives the room a unique touch, with a staircase leading up to a cosy living area complete with a sofa and a small dining table, a nice spot to enjoy takeaway meals or simply wind down after a day out.

Another feature we appreciated was the in-room kitchenette. Equipped with a microwave, stove, cutlery, utensils, pots and pans, it has everything you need to prepare simple meals, making it especially suitable for longer stays or anyone who prefers dining in occasionally. We actually used the area to prepare a quick supper in the evening.
The bathroom was also decently sized and stocked with the usual essentials, including towels, toiletries, toothbrushes and even hand lotion, so we didn’t have to worry about packing the basics.
If you’re travelling on a tighter budget, the Studio rooms start from approximately $127.50 per night, making Citadines Rochor one of the more affordable hotel options in the city.
Facilities at Citadines Rochor
Despite being a city property, Citadines Rochor offers a good range of communal facilities.
The highlight is its 25-metre outdoor swimming pool, which is long enough for guests who actually want to clock a few laps instead of simply taking a dip.

There’s also a fitness corner overlooking the pool. While it isn’t particularly large, it has enough equipment for a simple workout, especially if you visit during off-peak hours.
Guests staying for an extended period will also appreciate the self-service launderette located near the reception, complete with washers and dryers.
For those who enjoy cooking, some room types already come with their own kitchenette. Alternatively, there’s a shared Residents’ Kitchen downstairs that’s equipped for more elaborate meal preparation. It also doubles as a communal dining space and can be used for private events or gatherings. The property also features a Residents’ Lounge where guests can relax or catch up on work outside their rooms.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served as a convenient grab-and-go concept, with guests choosing between a noodle set or a waffle set.
While we appreciated the convenience, the breakfast itself was fairly basic. We found the noodle option to be the better of the two, while the waffles were less memorable. It gets the job done if you’re looking for a quick bite before heading out, though those seeking a more substantial breakfast may prefer exploring the many cafes and eateries around Little India instead.

If you’re after a luxurious staycation packed with premium facilities, Citadines Rochor may not be the first choice. However, for travellers seeking a clean, modern hotel in an excellent location, it delivers good value for money.
Between its loft-style rooms, practical kitchen facilities, convenient communal spaces and excellent MRT connectivity, it’s an easy recommendation for both staycations and longer stays in Singapore.
